Parma man gets 5 years in prison for 2025 shooting on Clark Street in Elyria

A Parma man has been sentenced to at least 5 years in prison for shooting and wounding another man on Clark Street in Elyria last year. Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Raymond Ewers ordered Levi Webb, 28, to surrender at the Lorain County Jail on Dec. 26 to begin serving an indefinite 5-to-6-year sentence. Webb must serve at least 5 years, with an additional year possible depending on his behavior in prison. Webb pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of felonious assault and one count of using a weapon while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, plus a firearm specification and forfeiture specifications. It was the day his trial was scheduled to start. Ewers ordered Webb to forfeit the Glock 19 handgun used in the shooting. Webb will be on post-release control, formerly called parole, for 18 months to 3 years upon release from prison. A message seeking comment was left for Webb's attorney, Doug Merrill. Elyria police arrested Webb after he shot a 35-year-old man at a house on Clark Street shortly before 3 a.m. on May 31, 2025. The victim was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries. Police said Webb and a woman had gone to Clark Street to continue a fight with another woman that had started the night before. When they got there Webb, who had been drinking, pulled a gun and shot the victim. Police said Webb, the woman he went to Clark Street with and the gun used in the shooting were found in Webb's car near the intersection of Chestnut Ridge and Abbe roads.
