Goldie Armillia Wagner

Goldie Armillia (nee: Bateman) Wagner of Brighton Township, Ohio, entered into rest with her Savior Thursday, June 4, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. Born January 18, 1940, in Albion, Pennsylvania, Goldie was the daughter of Lynn and Anna Bateman. She was raised in Albion, Pennsylvania. For the past 50 years, she made her home in Brighton Township, where she devoted her life to her family and community. Goldie was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. While her greatest joy was caring for her family as a homemaker and mother of seven children, she also worked part-time in nursing homes and local grocery stores. Her caring spirit and strong work ethic touched the lives of many. A faithful member of Rochester Baptist Church, Goldie was actively involved in church ministries. She found great fulfillment in serving others through her faith. An accomplished seamstress and quilter, she lovingly sewed and donated blankets and quilts to homeless shelters, battered women's shelters, and children in need. Her generosity and compassion touched countless lives, many of whom never had the opportunity to thank her personally. Goldie also enjoyed participating in 4-H activities, attending the Lorain County Fair, and preserving the harvest through canning. She took pride in sharing her talents, knowledge, and love with her family and community. Whether tending to her home, preparing meals, sewing quilts, or spending time with those she loved, Goldie found joy in life's simple blessings. She leaves behind her beloved children, Laurie (Brian) Blair, Lawrence (Angela) Wagner, Lisa Sines, Lloyd (Mindi) Wagner, Lynnell (Wayne) Wise, Lizabeth Wagner, and Louis Wagner; and her cherished eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, relatives, and friends who will forever treasure her memory. Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, David Wagner; her parents, Lynn and Anna Bateman; her cherished grandchildren, Nathanael Blair and Elisha Blair; and her siblings, Thomas Bateman, David Bateman, Lynn Bateman, Silvia Owen; son in law, Tony Cutright and her daughter in law, Julie Wagner. Goldie will be remembered for her loving heart, steadfast faith, and the countless sacrifices she made for her family. Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the many treasured memories she leaves behind and in the assurance that her love will remain with them always. Friends may call Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.
