Luís Visalden-Silva

Luís Visalden-Silva, 79, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of Monday, December 8, 2025 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho. Luís, the youngest child of Segundo Visalden and Ramona Silva, was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on May 1, 1946. He made his way to New York, where he remained only briefly. From New York, he made his way to Lorain which he called home for 35 plus years. In that time, he devoted 30 years to the Ford factory in Avon. Not long after retiring, Luis made his way to Leesburg, Florida. After all, the love for a more tropical climate never left his heart. He loved being outside and gardening - but, the definition of thoughtfulness, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with and on his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Luis lived, his last years, in Clarkston, Washington, where he loved relaxing with a sweet or two, a good investigative tv show, and a great- grand baby or great-grand fur baby. Luís is survived by his siblings, Arturo (Luz), Juan (Carmen), Angel (Margo), Cruz Rivera, William; children, Luis (Louie) Jr. (Christine Boyko) and Aurora (Dory) Ponds (Jeff); his grandchildren, Zachary Hill, Courtney Pelan (Julien), Breann Peppers (RJ), Arrianne Ponds, Evan Visalden, Gabriel Visalden, and Cole Visalden, and his great-granddaughters, Autrey Peppers and Héloïse Pelan. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain, Ohio, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, 555 N Ridge Rd., Lorain, Ohio.
