- St Paul Lutheran Church Easter egg hunt, 10 a.m. to noon today at 115 Central Drive, Amherst. Egg hunts, crafts, cookie decorating, children's Easter message, balloons, and Easter bunny. Egg hunts every 20-25 minutes. - Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church Lenten Lamentations (Gorzkie Zale), 3 p.m. Sunday at 418 West 15th St., Lorain. This beautiful and moving devotion, honoring the Passion of our Lord, includes Benediction, hymns, and a period of reflection. Ample parking is available in the lot off 14th Street. - St. Teresa of Avila fish fry, 4:30-7 p.m. Friday, 1878 Abbe Road, Sheffield. All dinners include coleslaw, dessert, roll and your choice of fries, cabbage and noodles, mac and cheese or pierogi. Lake perch, shrimp or combo dinner is $20 each; pierogi or mac and cheese dinners are $12 each. A la carte items include: fries, New England clam chowder, mac and cheese, pierogi and cabbage and noodles for $5 each. Dine-in dinners receive choice of coffee, tea, lemonade or iced tea. Cash, check, debit/credit accepted. - Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church Good Friday Evening Liturgy of the Lord's Passion, 7 p.m. Friday at 418 West 15th St., Lorain. This liturgy includes readings, the sung Passion of St. John, composed by William Byrd, solemn intercessions for the whole world, Adoration of the Cross, and Holy Communion. A cappella chants and hymns in several languages draw us into the suffering and death of Jesus, as we prepare to rejoice in his resurrection. - Pilgrim United Church of Christ Easter egg hunt, 1 p.m. April 4 at 523 E. Broad St., Elyria. Open to all ages 12 years and younger. Bring a bag for your candy. - Our Lady Queen of Peace Church rummage and bake sale, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 24 and 8 a.m. to noon April 25 at 708 Erie St., Grafton. Saturday is $5 bag day. - LaPorte United Methodist Church rigatoni dinner, starting at 5:30 p.m. May 2 at 2071 Grafton Road, Elyria. The meal features rigatoni with sauce and meat, salad, rolls, homemade desserts, and beverages. Takeout available. A Chinese/silent auction will also be held during the event. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children younger than 10, and free for kids 2 and younger. Tickets may be purchased by calling the church office at (440) 458 5717.
