Noel Neri Torres

Noel Neri Torres, 71, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, following a sudden illness. Noel was born December 13, 1954, in Lorain, Ohio, to parents, Juan Neri Torres, born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, in 1933, and Aurea Esther Torres-Ortiz, born in Coamo, Puerto Rico, in 1939. He is survived by both of his parents, who remain an important part of his story. He was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1973, and went on to attend The Ohio State University, where he earned his degree in 1977. He built a successful career as a chemist with a focus in polymers, working for BF Goodrich until his retirement in 2004. His work reflected his analytical mind, patience, and commitment, qualities that carried through every part of his life. Noel was an avid golfer who truly loved the game, finding joy and peace on the course. He was also a devoted reader who loved an interesting story, immersing himself in books that explored a wide range of characters and perspectives. Those who knew him will remember his intelligence, thoughtfulness, and the steady presence he brought to the lives around him; a presence that did not demand attention but was always felt. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carole Anne Torres (née Kimmel); his brothers, Edgardo Torres and Ariel Torres; his daughters, Nicole Torres, Felicia Buntura, Caralise Bunn, and Kasandra Yosa; and his stepdaughters, Angelique Lyczkowski, Gabrielle Stoddard, and Jessica McClellan. He was a loving uncle and a proud grandfather to many grandchildren. Noel was preceded in death by his brother, Aime Torres in 1978; his brother, Joel Torres in 1991; and his niece, Andrea Torres in 2010. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Domingo Torres and Victoria Miranda; and his maternal grandparents, Ernesto Ortiz-Colon and Felicita Ortiz-Alicea. The family will receive friends in Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, 440-244-1961, Monday, February 2, 2026 from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m., The Reverend Jerome M.
