Second Harvest announces 2026 Harvest for Hunger campaign 'Honorary Champions'

Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio named multiple local Rotary Clubs as this year's Harvest for Hunger campaign "Honorary Champions." In Lorain County, the Elyria Noon, Elyria Sunrise, Lorain, North Coast (Avon, Avon Lake, Sheffield and Sheffield Lake), Oberlin and Vermilion Rotary clubs are participating. Other clubs participating are Bellevue, Bucyrus, Huron, Milan, New London, Norwalk and Sandusky. The food and funds raised from the annual food and funds campaign, which is the largest of its kind in the country, go directly to support Second Harvest's network of partners including the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, serving 21 counties in Northeast Ohio. All donations stay where they are raised and help restock the shelves of food pantries, hot meal programs and shelters. The goal is to raise enough funding for 3.9 million meals. The kickoff event for Harvest for Hunger this year is 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 26 at Second Harvest, 5510 Baumhart Road in Lorain. It will feature Pam Brumbaugh, 2025-26 district governor of Rotary District 6600 and other Rotarians.
