James J. Lyons III

James J. Lyons III, 84, of North Ridgeville, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Jim was born April 29, 1941 in Providence, Rhode Island, was a 1960 graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. He and his family moved to Elyria in 1975 where he was employed at Worthington Golf as operations leader. He worked in golf ball manufacturing his entire career retiring in 2006 from Sunset Golf, formerly PGI Golf. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, DIY projects, working on cars and visiting Prudence Island during his retirement years. Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice (nee Carignan); children, Jill (Robert) Hanna of Cuyahoga Falls, Jim (Chrissy) Lyons of Wooster, Jeff (Colleen) Lyons of Amherst, Jon (Christy) Lyons of Monclova; grandchildren, Brett, Sarah (Bryan), Jake (Lexi), Dylan (Hannah), Lily, Jessica, Sylvia, Jimmy, Joey, Jonny, Casey; great-grandchildren, Ryley and Ava; and his brother, Oliver. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Teresa Lyons; brothers, Denny and Tommy; and a sister, Maryellen. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 4 p.m. until the time of a 6 p.m. service in Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria with Pastor Tim Scholl officiating.
