Lorain County Sheriff's Office welcomes 2 new K-9 teams

The Lorain County Sheriff's Office has added two new K-9 teams. Deputy Adam Trifiletti has been paired with K-9 Bella, while Deputy Kiefer Miller has been paired with K-9 Rocky. Both recently graduated from Excel K-9 Services Inc., where they completed extensive training to prepare for their new assignments, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Donor contributions made it possible to purchase the new K-9s and pay for their training, according to the Sheriff's Office. K-9 Bella will serve as a bomb detection dog, assisting with explosive detection operations and public safety events, while K-9 Rocky will serve as an all-purpose dog trained in patrol, tracking and narcotics detection. Sheriff Jack Hall and Maj. Jeff Krepina, head of uniformed patrol and training at the Sheriff's Office, attended the graduation ceremony to show their support and congratulate Trifiletti and Miller on their accomplishments, the Sheriff's Office said. Both deputies spoke during the ceremony about the strong bond they've already built with their new canine partners and the work they'll be doing together to serve the residents of Lorain County. "Our K-9 teams play an essential role in keeping our communities safe," Hall said in the news release. "Deputy Trifiletti and Deputy Miller have shown great dedication through this training, and we're proud to welcome Bella and Rocky to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office family."
