Take one arm and thread it under the chest between the other arm and leg. Then return across the chest with an outstretched hand reaching toward the ceiling. Repeat using the opposite arm. Work It! features a new exercise each week with guidance from a fitness professional at the Fitness Center at University Hospitals Avon Health Center. This eight-week series was created by Tyler Neely, a Fitness Specialist, who centered the exercises around strong foundations. "It's about mastering the movements that matter most and are fundamental to us as humans," he says. "Whether it's picking a box up off the floor, pulling an item out of a cupboard, and getting up out of a chair, these are essential movements that we need to be able to perform safely every day." Neely also leads the center's Golf Conditioning classes and has an extensive background in training for pre-, post-, and in-season play that includes working with the Ohio University collegiate golf team and being a golf lead at Dick's Sporting Goods.
