Today - Sip, shop and savor downtown Vermilion at the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce's Corks and Kegs Walk. Registration is $30, which comes with an event bag, a wrist band and a map to participating merchants that will be equipped with samples of wine and or beer for the event from noon to 4 p.m. Complete the map and be entered to win the Grand Prize Basket. For every $10 spent at participating merchants, registrants earn additional entries for the basket. Check in is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the gazebo in Victory Park, 687 Main St. Register at vermilionohio.com and receive an QR code, which will be needed at check in. There will be a prize for best Ohio State costume. Participants must be 21 and older, be prepared to present identification. The event will be held rain or shine. - A senior luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harbourtown Community Foursquare Church, 873 State St. This event is planned for those 65 and older. Come for the food or for the fellowship. - Learn about the history, evolution, themes, influences and characteristics of horror movies from outside the United States while viewing clips from 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Lorain Main Library. Sunday - Vitalant is sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. to noon in the cafeteria at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion. Monday - Lorain County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society on "Researching your War of 1812 Ancestor'' at 7 p.m. via Zoom. The presenter will be Eric Johnson, a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force and author of many books involving military service.
