Five to be inducted into Keystone Hall of Fame

Keystone High School will induct its 27th annual Hall of Fame class Aug. 23. This year's five inductees are Ted Gordon, Jenna Quillen, CJ Conrad and brothers William and Brian Spangler. Brian and William Spangler Brian and William become only the second and third athletes to join the Hall based solely on their wrestling exploits, joining Jim Pycraft, Jr. (2012). Brian began amassing championships a freshman season, winning the first of his four conference crowns and becoming Keystone's first district champ as a freshman. He went on to four state tournament appearances, earning three podium finishes. He ranks third in school history with a 157-22 record, third in career takedowns with 443 and second in career pins with 97. William's success also started his freshman year and continued through 2012, culminating with his third podium finish at state in four years. In total, William amassed 173 wins in his high school career, a record that stood for more than a decade. His individual marks include a 173-23 record, which places him second on the career list at Keystone, as well as his 92 pins, which place him 4th. Additionally, his 364 career takedowns earn him the 7th spot on the school list. CJ Conrad CJ Conrad was arguably the most accomplished football players in Keystone schools history. His success as a two-sport high school star continued into college and, eventually, as a coach at the collegiate level. CJ joins his father, MIke, and his sister, MacKenzie, as members of the KATS Hall. Jenna Quillen When Jenna Quillen completed her high school career with an All-Ohio finish in the 300 Meter Hurdles at the Ohio State Track and Field Championships in June of 2014, she left the KHS program owning more medals and more school and conference records than any other female Keystone Track and Field athlete in school history. Jenna was a three-sport athlete, as she had sterling careers as a middle hitter for the volleyball team and as a midfielder and goalkeeper on the soccer team, to go along with her track career. Ted Gordon Ted Gordon was a beloved football and wrestling coach, athletic director, phys ed teacher, and mentor to hundreds, Ted takes his rightful place beside several fellow coaches and Keystone athletes in the Hall. Ted is also a member of the Lorain County Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame, class of 2007. Hundreds of his former athletes and colleagues count Ted Gordon as a friend and as a mentor.
