Notes: Jerry Jeudy grateful to be No. 82 in Top 100, believes he can play even better this season

BEREA — Jerry Jeudy's first season in Cleveland came with highlight after highlight. He made his first Pro Bowl after setting career highs with 90 catches for 1,229 yards, adding four touchdowns.Another memorable moment came earlier this month when he was No. 82 on NFL.com's Top 100 Players list. The players do the voting."It means a lot, being able to be ranked amongst your peers," Jeudy said Saturday after training camp practice. "The people that actually watch the film, watch the tape and that you are practicing, playing against, it means a lot to be able to be recognized as one of the top guys in the league. Yeah, I'm very thankful of it."Grant Delpit says he hasn't done enough, determined to do more to help Browns winThe Browns acquired Jeudy from the Broncos in a March 2024 trade, then quickly gave him a three-year, $52.5 million extension. He finally fulfilled the potential the Broncos saw when they drafted him No. 15 in 2020 out of Alabama.Jeudy was asked for his personal goals for this season."I just want to be better than I was last year and I just want to win while doing it," he said. "Every year I'm going to always think and believe that I can always be better than the year prior. I worked hard towards that during the offseason and even during the season. So hopefully that happens and I got extreme confidence that will happen."Coach Kevin Stefanski said Jeudy is ready to build on the breakout.Shedeur Sanders shows patience as he continues to wait for first-team reps"He's had a very good offseason. He was healthy, practicing and has a very good understanding now of our system, our scheme, how he fits in," he said. "Jerry's very intelligent. So there's no shortage of where you can line him up, what you can move him around to do. So I've been really pleased with all the things that Jerry's doing."Jeudy is the only sure thing in a receiver group with serious questions about talent and depth. He's also the veteran presence at the top of the depth chart."I do the best I can to respond and answer the questions that the young guys need help with," he said. "I'm always a helping hand to all the younger guys, to the guys that, even the old vets that come and ask me questions about how I run certain routes and how I do this. I'm always doing whatever to help the team grow and get better."Training Camp Log, Day 4: Shedeur Sanders throws TDs as offense shows signs of lifeMONDAY, MONDAYWith the Browns off Sunday for the first time in camp, Stefanski will meet with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave to discuss the four-man quarterback competition and whether they'll change the rotation or adjust the repetitions. To this point, veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders have all gotten significant reps. Flacco and Pickett have gotten the bulk of the first-team snaps, with Gabriel getting a few and Sanders none."It remains to be seen," Stefanski said. "I think we still need to rep everybody and get everybody ready for the preseason, for this season. So I want to get through today's practice and take in all the information, see how guys are performing at all positions. And then that's when we kind of get into the nitty-gritty of who's going where and with what groups. But I can't promise you anything on Monday, we'll see how it looks."** The Browns had an opportunity period after practice for the young players, including Gabriel and Sanders.INJURY REPORTReceiver Cedric Tillman (lower leg) returned after leaving practice Friday."I think we dodged a bullet there," Stefanski said.** The same can be said for receiver Kaden Davis.On the first play of 11-on-11s Saturday, receiver Kaden Davis dropped a pass from Pickett when he was hit hard by linebacker Devin Bush over the middle. Davis stayed down, then was checked by the medical staff on the sideline. He jogged into the building with a member of the medical staff for what seemed like further concussion testing before jogging back on the field and rejoining practice.** Receiver Michael Woods II (left hand) didn't practice for the second straight day. He worked out inside.** Backup offensive lineman Teven Jenkins and cornerback Tony Brown II didn't practice for the second straight day with undisclosed injuries that Stefanski said weren't major.** Running back Jerome Ford (undisclosed injury) missed his fourth straight practice to start camp.LINEUP CARDFollowing the retirement of Jordan Hicks on Friday, the linebacker spot has drawn extra attention.Rookie Carson Schwesinger and Bush were the linebackers with the first-team nickel package, and Mohamoud Diabate and Winston Reid with the second team.** With right tackle Jack Conklin resting for team drills, veteran Jackson Barton worked with the starting offense.
