St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Amherst has called Daesean Lawson as their church organist in February. Lawson is a student at the music conservatory at Oberlin College, where he is in his senior year. In April, St. Peter's called the Rev. Mike Boehm to be their settled part-time pastor. Pastor Mike came out of retirement after 28 years in active ministry to take on this historic church. St. Peter's is celebrating the end of the first session of its preschool under its new administrator, Heidi Chambers. Chambers has brought her extensive talents to St. Peter's and helped create a happy educational environment for our preschoolers to thrive in. The church is at 582 Church St. in Amherst. Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m. All are welcome.
