LCCC adds 5 to Commodore Hall of Fame

The Lorain County Community College Foundation has announced the five alumni who will be added to the LCCC Commodore Hall of Fame in 2025. The inductees this year will be Cleveland Cavaliers play-by-play announcer and former WEOL Sports Director Tim Alcorn; Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley; Educational Service Center of Lorain County Superintendent Franco Gallo; Mercy Health Allen Hospital President Carrie Janowski and Tasha Markovich, the lead user experience designer for Rockwell Automation. New inductees will be honored in a ceremony on a yet-to-be-determined date in June, a release from LCCC on Wednesday said. This will be the second class of former students inducted into the hall after the Commodore Hall of Fame was launched last year in honor of LCCC's 60th anniversary. "Last year, the LCCC Foundation launched the hall of fame to recognize the extraordinary contributions of our alumni," LCCC President Marcia Ballinger said in a release. "I am so pleased to welcome a new cohort of outstanding graduates to our Hall of Fame in 2025. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to our students and community." The Commodore Hall of Fame was established to spotlight LCCC graduates who have made significant contributions to their community, either in Lorain County or beyond. "There are over 47,000 LCCC grads making a difference in their communities. I see their contributions every day and am humbled to be able to honor them," LCCC Foundation Board Chair Rebecca Starck said in a release. Starck also served as co-chair for the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The inaugural inductees named to the Commodore Hall of Fame in 2024 were Michael Brown, Charlotte Gardiner, Gary LaBranche, Georgeane Poplar, Daniel Reaser, Michael R. Sherman, Daniel C.
