Lynda Marie Wearsch

Lynda Marie Wearsch, 76, of Amherst, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born March 21, 1949, in Amherst, Lynda spent most of her life in this community she loved and called home. Lynda was the heart and soul of her family, their rock, their guide, and their constant. Her home was always open, a safe haven filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support for anyone in need. Her love knew no bounds, and her greatest joy in life came from taking care of her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lynda's legacy is one of selfless love and fierce dedication. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, beginning her mornings with a hot cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle, and ending her days surrounded by the people she loved most. Lynda cherished her trips to Las Vegas with her husband, children, sisters, and nieces. She loved bowling, sunny afternoons on the golf course, and evenings filled with laughter around the pinochle table with family and friends. Her warmth and hospitality were unmatched. She especially came alive during the holidays. At Christmastime, her home would burst at the seams with family, food, decorations, laughter, and presents stacked high. In the summer, she brought everyone together for cookouts and pool parties filled with joy. But above all, her heart belonged to her grandchildren whom she loved with unmatched devotion. Lynda is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Charles Wearsch; her children, Eric Wearsch of Vermilion, Samuel Aguayo (Kristin) of Pensacola, Florida, Allison Powers (Kevin) of Avon Lake, Theodore Aguayo of Kentucky, Natalie Wearsch of Lorain, and Catherine Wearsch of Amherst. She was the proud grandmother of Amber, Teddy, Mehgan, Ava, Halle, Kaya, Logan, Adeline, Eloise, Enrico, and Alex, and a cherished great-grandmother to Jackson, Elijah, Brian, Cecilia, Stephen, Andrew, Stella, Palmer, and John. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Cynthia Morrell (Jose), Sandy Brooks (Chuck), and Susan Lopez (David). She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Vura; her brother, Daniel Sheppard; her stepmother, Ellen Sheppard; her parents-in-law, Earl and Eleanor Wearsch; and her parents, Dale Sheppard and Grace Sheppard (née Knox). Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lynda's life Monday, April 21, 2025, with calling hours beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev.
