Riveon Mental Health and Recovery gets $457,000 in grant funds for recovery services

Riveon Mental Health and Recovery has received nearly $457,000 in grant funding to support mental health and addiction recovery services, CEO Don Schiffbauer announced Wednesday. Riveon is the organization formed by last year's merger of The Nord Center and The LCADA Way. The $456,752.67 in grants from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation will go toward three particular efforts. The majority of the funding, or $271,612.67, will go toward Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program, or IOP, services. Another $95,040 will be used to help remove transportation barriers for those being helped, while another $90,100 will be used to expand access to care during weekend and evening hours. "At Riveon Mental Health and Recovery, we understand the critical importance of dual diagnosis treatment in addressing both addiction and mental health issues. By integrating comprehensive care, we can better support individuals on their journey to recovery," Schiffbauer said in a news release. "We are deeply grateful to the OneOhio Recovery Foundation for entrusting us with the funding to continue this vital work. This support enables us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve." The grant is part of an inaugural round of about $51 million in funding made available by the foundation as part of its mission to combat the opioid crisis by supporting prevention, treatment and recovery programs and services. The grants were funded with 55 percent of settlement funds Ohio received from the pharmaceutical industry as a consequence of its role in the national opioid crisis. The recipients were chosen after a review process that included evaluation by the local OneOhio Regional Board, the OneOhio expert panel and the foundation's board of directors.
