Vermilion police Monday, Nov. 18 2:25 p.m. — North Ridge Road, found license plate turned in for safekeeping. 5:52 p.m. — state Route 2, traffic stop; driver was found to have a moving violation arrest warrant through Erie County, taken into custody and released to deputies. 10:25 p.m. — Liberty Avenue, traffic stop; driver stopped for an equipment violation was charged for possession of a firearm, having a weapon under disability, a third-degree felony, and violation of carrying a concealed weapon, a first-degree misdemeanor. Tuesday, Nov. 19 12:19 p.m. — Hilltop Drive, assisted emergency medical personnel to transport a patient to the hospital for an evaluation. 1 p.m. — 400 block of Ewa Yea Street, suspicious person complaint. 1:44 p.m. — 400 block of Ewa Yea Street, fraud reported. 10:25 p.m. — Liberty Avenue, traffic stop; citation issued for driving under suspension. Wednesday, Nov. 20 12:06 a.m. — Overlook Drive, traffic stop; person walking in the street was found to have an active warrant out of Lorain County and taken into custody and transported to Lorain County Jail. 2 a.m. — Liberty Avenue, traffic stop; citation issued for driving under suspension. 2:40 a.m. — 3500 block of Cooper Foster Park Avenue, disturbance reported; a man was charged with intoxicated disorderly conduct. 1:53 p.m. — state Route 2, traffic stop; driver was found to have an active arrest warrant and taken into custody. Thursday, Nov. 21 8:37 a.m. — 5000 block of Driftwood Drive, criminal damaging involving a vehicle. 4:07 p.m. — 800 block of Douglas St., caller reported a solicitor knocking on his door despite it being listed on a "do not knock" list; the solicitor was located and warned. 9:36 p.m. — 600 block of Hazelwood Drive, domestic disturbance reported; parties separated for the night once it was determined there was no physical contact. Friday, Nov. 22 9:04 a.m. — Liberty Avenue, non-injury vehicle accident. 9:04 p.m. — 500 block of Sunnyside Road, fraud complaint. Saturday, Nov. 23 1:18 a.m. — Overlook Drive, traffic stop; driver was found to have an active arrest warrant and taken into custody. 2:44 a.m. — 900 block of Douglas St., Elyria police reported finding an abandoned vehicle within city limits. Officers located the vehicle owner, who was unaware the vehicle was missing, and was instructed to arrange with Elyria police to recover the vehicle. 11:48 p.m. — Adams Street, non-injury traffic accident; after a brief investigation, Anthony Daniel Schindler, 27, of Vermilion was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusing to submit to alcohol breath testing and failure to maintain assured clear distance. Sunday, Nov. 24 8:41 p.m. — Liberty Avenue, traffic stop; driver taken into custody on active arrest warrant and released to Elyria police and cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension. Monday, Nov. 25 10:32 a.m. — 2900 block of Liberty Ave., theft complaint at a local business; the suspect was located and trespass warned for his actions. Tuesday, Nov. 26 7:22 a.m. — 1300 block of Claus Road, a 72-year-old woman was found dead from natural causes. 7:24 a.m. — 300 block of Mornington Road, possible burglary attempted reported; entry was not gained. 10:18 a.m. — state Route 2, minor two-vehicle accident. 2:17 p.m. — 5500 block of Haley St., report of a person possibly experiencing thoughts of self-harm; taken to the hospital for treatment. 11:11 p.m. — 3100 block of Elyria Drive, domestic disturbance reported. Wednesday, Nov. 27 2:42 p.m. — state Route 60: minor one-vehicle accident. 3:10 p.m. — 4600 block of Liberty Ave., menacing complaint; Robert Merrell Bernhardt, 70, of Lorain was charged with aggravated menacing. Thursday, Nov. 28 12:18 a.m. — Berkley Drive, traffic stop; citation issued for driving under suspension. 12:20 p.m. — 800 block of Riverside Drive, domestic disturbance; determined to be verbal only. 8:46 p.m. — 1500 block of Vermilion Road, domestic dispute; a 14-year-old was charged with domestic violence and taken to Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home. Friday, Nov. 29 3:39 — 5400 block of Liberty Ave., property damage reported to a vehicle, struck by a planter pot. 9:21 p.m. — 400 block of Erie St., theft reported involving a vehicle that the owner reported loaning out to an acquaintance, who did not return it; the vehicle was later returned without incident. Sunday, Dec. 1 1:21 a.m. — 5600 block of Liberty Avenue, complaint of an attempting "drugging" of a drink at Rudy's Bar and Grill. The incident is under investigation. 2:51 p.m. — 5200 block of Ohio Street, complaint made involving two juveniles who reportedly made a video of a sensitive nature; an investigation continues and there are no arrests at this time. 4:43 p.m. — 900 block of Howard Drive, runaway juvenile reported; the juvenile was located and returned home.
