Lorain County Republican Party hosting another 'Trump Train' road rally Friday

The Lorain County Republican Party will drum up support for Republican candidates with another "Trump Train Road Rally" on Friday. The gathering point is the north side of the parking lot of the old Best Buy store at 6650 Midway Mall Blvd. in Elyria. Participants should plan to arrive about 4 p.m. to decorate their vehicles and register. Local candidates may be included in vehicle signs, but no profanity is allowed on decorations. There will be a short program at 4:45 p.m. and the train will leave promptly at 5 p.m. The rally is open to all Republican candidate supporters and starts with honoring former President Donald Trump. The Republican businessman, a one-term president from 2017-2021 and convicted felon, will face Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat, former California attorney general and U.S. senator, in the Nov. 5 election. Drivers will be given maps and additional information prior to departure, and are asked to follow all traffic laws while driving the route. The rally will roll through parts of Elyria, Sheffield, Avon and North Ridgeville. The rally is expected to take about one hour and 10 minutes and travel about 27 miles. The end point is South Central Park, at 7565 Avon Belden Road in North Ridgeville. At the finish, picnic food will be available for a donation at the park. This is the fourth such rally in Lorain County this campaign season.
