Elyria Apple Festival schedule of events

The Elyria Apple Festival will kick off at 12:30 p.m. on Friday with an opening performance from the Elyria High School marching band at the main stage in Ely Square; additional music acts will perform throughout the day. There will be musical acts throughout each of the three days in addition to the scheduled events. Schedule of events: Friday 12:30 p.m. – The Elyria High School marching band will perform at the main stage downtown. 4 to 9 p.m. – Cram the Cruiser and dunk tank at the intersection of Court Street and Second Street. Residents will be able to try and dunk Elyria police officers or Mayor Kevin Brubaker by donating money or school supplies. Saturday 8 a.m. to noon – The Apple Festival pickleball tournament will take place at the West Park pickleball courts. 11 a.m. – The judging for the 44th annual Elyria Apple Festival Apple Baking Contest will take place. Apples must be dropped off at 200 Middle Avenue, Suite 100, by 10:30 a.m. 11 a.m. – Cram the Cruiser and dunk tank at the intersection of Court Street and Second Street. Residents will be able to try and dunk Elyria police officers or Mayor Kevin Brubaker by donating money or school supplies. 12:30 p.m. – The Apple Festival Princess Pageant will be at the main stage. 1-7 p.m. – City Hall's parking lot will host the Kids Zone, with a wide variety of activities for the kids to participate in. 4:30 p.m. – Police vs. Fire Department Pie Eating Relay contest at the main stage. Sunday 8 a.m. – Register online or in person for the Apple Festival 5K run and walk. Registration is $15 and is open in person at FGFF Rapha International Center starting at 7:30 a.m. 8 a.m. – The Apple Festival Car Show will be at the intersection of West Avenue and Broad Street. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and judging will be from 9 to 11:30 p.m. Registration is $10 and winners will be announced at 1 p.m.
