Vermilion police Monday, Aug. 26 12:07 p.m. - 700 block of Decatur Street, a caller reported their vehicle's tires were slashed overnight; no suspects. 3:37 p.m. - 4900 block of Mapleview Drive, report of a physical domestic violence incident in progress; a juvenile was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Erie County Detention Home pending further proceedings. Tuesday, Aug. 27 4:10 a.m. - Hollyview Drive, parking complaint. 7:14 a.m. - South Shore Court, parking complaint. 7:37 a.m. - 1000 block of Sanford Street, report of pellet damage to a vehicle; no suspects at this time. 7:46 a.m. - 800 block of Bryant Drive, a caller reported a man locked in a basement; upon investigation, it was determined the caller was not locked in and under the influence and domestic violence had occurred earlier that morning. Jeremy Jonathan Arnott, 34, was charged with domestic violence and taken to Erie County Jail. 1:51 p.m. - 4200 block of Liberty Avenue, a caller reported fraud involving the theft of a vehicle from Liberty Ford. A manager told police a man in Lancaster arranged for the purchase of a vehicle online, arranging for it to be delivered to his home. At that point he was to pay for the car by check, but the check was not valid. The vehicle was recovered and charges are pending. 4:44 p.m. - 1000 block of Vermilion road, a caller reported the he discovered on his security cameras that an unknown person tried to steal his motorcycle earlier that morning and left when he spotted the cameras. No suspects at this time. Wednesday, Aug. 28 9:04 p.m. - Liberty Avenue, officers attempted a traffic stop on a motorcyclist, who fled. The pursuit was terminated and a suspect was developed. Detectives are investigating. Thursday, Aug. 29 7:51 a.m. - 1200 block of Sanford Street, a social security card was found and turned in; the owner was located and the card was returned. 2:39 p.m. - 6800 block of Cliffside Drive, a found checkbook was turned in and secured for safekeeping until the owner is locate. Friday, Aug. 30 9:37 a.m. - Liberty Avenue, non-injury vehicle accident. 3:34 p.m. - Liberty Avenue, traffic stop; citation issued for driving under suspension. 11:18 p.m. - 1200 block of West River Road, loud noise complaint involving a business with loud music and no commercial permit; the owner was advised of the violation and how to obtain a permit. Saturday, Aug. 31 10:24 a.. - 800 block of Bryant Drive, check fraud reported; a warrant was issued for the suspect. 12:26 p.m. - 800 block of Bryant Drive, an additional fraud complaint involving the previous suspect was filed; charges pending. 11:51 p.m. - Edgewater Drive, a caller reported their juvenile child was receiving unwanted phone calls from an older man; it was determined to be prank calls from another juvenile. 4:44 p.m. - 5600 block of Liberty Avenue, a debit card was found and turned in; the owner was located and the card was returned. 8:12 p.m. - 200 block of Berkshire Road, a caller reported an unwanted person at the home,, arguing with the occupants; the suspect left before officers arrived. 10:22 p.m. - Claus Road, traffic stop; Kenneth C. Schneider, 50, of Amherst was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, speeding and refusal to submit to a blood test alcohol test. Amherst police Friday, Aug. 2 9:09 a.m. - Sands Avenue, report of domestic violence; a woman reported her ex-boyfriend broke her phone during a struggle. Saturday, Aug. 3 3:56 p.m. - met Cleveland Heights police in Lakewood to transfer a person picked up on an Amherst warrant and delivered the subject to Lorain County Jail. Sunday, Aug. 11 12 a.m. - Green Forest Drive, report of an unconscious man; assisted emergency medical personnel to render lifesaving measures and the man was taken to the hospital for further treatment. Wednesday, Aug. 14 10:46 p.m. - 704 N. Leavitt Rd., unwanted man reported at Motel 6. Akil D. Watts, 31, no residence listed was charged with criminal trespassing and taken to Lorain County Jail. Thursday, Aug. 15 No time given - 1833 Cooper Foster Park Rd., report of theft from a vehicle at Tyson Foods; the complainant was referred to another agency because of issues that occurred outside the city limits. Friday, Aug. 16 No time given - police department, a man reported his father missing after the man walked home from Ziggy's earlier but hadn't been heard from since. The man was later located. Tuesday, Aug. 19 No time given - police department, report of a missing adult man. 7:56 p.m. - Cooper Foster Park Road, report of the theft of a catalytic converters from a vehicle while it was parked at a business. 9:25 p.m. - North Woodhill Drive, disturbance reported; parties agreed to separate for the evening. Friday, Aug. 23 9 a.m. - Fall Lake Lane and Springvale Drive, report of a black Lexus driving around a school bus with its stop sign up multiple days in a row, and the informant included a video of the action happening. A citation was issued to the 35-year-old female driver for not stopping for a stopped school bus. 9:27 p.m. - no location given, traffic stop; citation issued for expired plates; while the vehicle was being towed and inventoried, a clear rock substance and two ceramic pipes were found. Allen Johnson, 53, of Lorain was charged for possession of cocain, a third-degree felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Aaron Keen McDowell Jr., 25, of Lorain was charged for violation of a protection order and taken to Lorain County Jail. 8:29 p.m. - Cooper Foster Park Road, traffic stop; citations issued for driving under suspension, crossing marked lanes and a summons for obstructing official business. 8:30 p.m. - state Route 2, traffic stop; citation issued for speeding. 9:36 p.m. - state Route 2, officers received multiple calls regarding a reckless driver. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. Alicia Vasquez, 31, of Lorain was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Sunday, Aug. 25 12:47 p.m. - 704 N. Leavitt Rd., people located a vehicle reported stolen at Motel 6. John Tiffany and Sabrina Slingwine, no ages or residences listed, were each charged with receiving stolen property, counterfeiting, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug abuse instruments, and driving under suspension. She was taken into custody and released to Elyria police. 9:14 p.m. - met Lorain police to transfer person in custody on an Amherst warrant; transported to Lorain County Jail. 9:15 p.m. - Kresge Drive, traffic stop; passenger was taken into custody on an active warrant and released to Ohio Highway Patrol troopers.
