Marilyn A. Corbley

Marilyn A. Corbley (nee Wiegand), 72, of Grafton, peacefully passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. Marilyn was born August 19, 1951, to Raymond F. and Laurine E. (nee Phillips) Wiegand in Canton, Ohio. Marilyn graduated from Westlake High School, class of 1969. After high school, she worked at Fairview Hospital as a nursing assistant, alongside her lifelong and dearest friend, Karen. In 1971, Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, Bob Corbley. Their love story was unique and theirs alone. Together they raised three children and Marilyn loved being a wife and mom. Through her natural talent of mothering, she worked as a Parent Educator for Lorain County, Parents as Teachers, for five years. She used these skills even after her time with the county to care, nurture, and love any and all children. Marilyn had a selfless and giving heart, almost to a fault, and found a way to reach out to those in need and less fortunate. Marilyn loved being near the water. She traveled to the ocean whenever she could and spent time enjoying our own Lake Erie. Music meant a lot to Marilyn, and she loved listening to all types. Her apple walnut pie was second to none. A family favorite they always looked forward to. Family members left to cherish Marilyn's memories include her sweet husband of 52 years, Robert G. Corbley; children, Colleen M. Saterlee, Rob R. Corbley (Karri), and Kristin R. Walsh (Mike); grandchildren, Bryce R. Corbley, Sean R. Saterlee, Colin M. Corbley, McKenna R. Saterlee, Ryan P. Walsh, Maeve C. Walsh, and Liam R. Walsh; nana to Danielle, and Megan del Corral, Elizabeth, Christopher and Jenna Westgate; Great-Nana to their children; aunt and friend to many. Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Laurine Wiegand; granddaughter, LB Walsh; two sisters; and one brother. Family will receive guests Friday, June 28, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Avenue, Elyria.
