Allan James Biltz

Allan James Biltz, born May 15, 1943, to the late Frances McCartney, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Allan is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Linda. Together, they shared a remarkable life, blessed with four sons; Bill (Michelle) Biltz, Tim (Micki) Biltz, Chad (Linda) Biltz, and Jeremy Biltz; along with six grandchildren, Cory (Stephanie) Biltz, Allyson Biltz, Jenna Biltz, Glenn (Lisa) Willard, Tera Sullivan, and Paige Biltz; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Avery, Damon, and Charlee. Allan and Linda made their home in Brighton, Michigan, since 1983, after raising their family in Elyria, Ohio. Three of their sons remain close by, while one proudly served as a retired Air Force Officer in San Antonio, Texas. Allan's passion for the outdoors was a defining aspect of his life. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a forest ranger, a dream that translated into a lifelong love for small game hunting, archery, and camping. He cherished the times spent around the campfire with his family, playing the guitar and sharing stories that spanned generations. Allan and Linda organized countless 'Geezer Gitdowns' on Beaver Island, creating lasting memories with friends and family. His book, inspired by family tales and adventures with the Garden Island Six, stands as a testament to his rich storytelling and deep connection to nature. He and Linda's favorite summer pastime was sitting outside dining at the Lodge and reminiscing while viewing their beloved Garden Island across the water. These cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts for those who knew and loved him. There will be a private viewing for immediate family for Allan Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Keehn-Griffin Funeral Home, 706 W. Main St., Brighton. A graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Brighton where he will be laid to rest. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date for friends and family.
