Lorain County Strategic Plan 'pillar' discussion on industry, economic development is June 3

The Lorain County Board of Commissioners is hosting the fourth in a series of six Strategic Pillar discussion workshops from 10 a.m. to noon Monday (June 3), this one on innovative industry and economic development. The event will take place in room 208 of the Spitzer Conference Center at Lorain County Community College. The workshop will cover what is happening in the county relating to innovative industry and economic development, best practice models, opportunities to collaborate and the formation of an innovative industry and economic development task force, the county said in a news release. The workshops are open to anyone who wishes to attend, but registration is required. The six pillars are: promoting the availability of county resources; fostering a strong local workforce and education system; facilitating creative solutions to transportation; housing and infrastructure needs; facilitating greater countywide collaboration; and supporting innovative industry and economic development. Discussions already have been held on workforce development and education, housing, and transportation. There are two more planned after Monday's event.
