Vincent Elementary administrators honored with statewide awards

SHEFFIELD TWP. — Vincent Elementary Assistant Principal Jennifer Fazio is the Robin to Principal Lynne Stark's Batman, the pair joked. And during Clearview's Board of Education meeting on Monday, they were recognized by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators for the superheroes they jokingly claimed to be. Each received the Association's 2024 Elementary Principal and Vice Principal of the Year, respectively. OAESA's Becky Hornberger, executive director, and Mark Jones, associate executive director, came to Clearview High School to present Stark and Fazio with certificates recognizing them for their work at Vincent Elementary. Jones noted it was the first time in the organization's history that the honored principal and vice principal were from the same school. Honorees are selected by their colleagues for achievements above and beyond those expected in the usual school program. OAESA has been recognizing outstanding administrators since 1984. Vincent Elementary as a whole was named to the organization's Hall of Fame in 2022. Fazio said it was an honor to be chosen for the recognition, noting during the past five years she and Stark have worked to foster relationships inside, and outside, their building. "I love working with Lynne," she said. "… As a team, we can tackle anything." Stark echoed many of Fazio's sentiments, adding that the honor was really about the staff in the elementary school. "We couldn't do it without the staff we have," Stark said. Both will be honored at the organization's statewide conference in June.
