Buddy Acord In Loving Memory

Buddy Acord, 84, of Lorain, passed away after a short illness Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Buddy was born in Lando, West Virginia to Alex and Ada Acord (nee: Adams) March 16, 1939. He moved to Rio Grande, Ohio, as a child before coming to the Lorain area. Buddy worked at Ford Motor Company in Lorain, before he retired. He loved attending North Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Amherst. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. By far, his greatest love was for his family, his grandkids, and his church family. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Carmel Acord (nee: Block); his daughters, Brenda (Bob) Grimmett, and Lisa Acord; and his son, Gary (Lara) Acord. He was preceded in death by Leck and Ada Acord (nee: Adams); and his brother, Widdie Acord. The family will receive friends, Monday, December 4, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 12 Noon with additional visitation held from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon at North Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 323 North Lake St., South Amherst. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. The family would like to thank everyone who visited him in the hospital and nursing home.
