Barbara Ann (Schaefer) Boyer

Barbara Ann (Schaefer) Boyer, 82, of Wakeman, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, after a brief illness. She was born February 20, 1941 in Elyria to Leo and Frances (Krystowski) Schaefer. Barbara graduated from Elyria Catholic High School. She was employed as a legal secretary at Lynch & White for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, painting, scrapbooking, socializing with her high school friends, and playing cards. Barbara is survived by her children, Dale (JoAnne) Boyer of Norwalk, Mark (Jennifer) Boyer of Lebanon, Carol (Scott) Perkins of Wakeman, Michael (Diane) Boyer of Delaware, Ohio, and Thomas (Leah) Boyer of Wakeman; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, George (Anne) Schaefer, Joan (Jim) Seabold, and Mary (Jim) Grace; sister-in-law, Eileen Rigg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William Boyer; daughter, Theresa Boyer; and brother, Dan Schaefer. Friends may call Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 46 E. Main St., Wakeman, with Father Ron Brickner presiding. Burial will follow at a later date.
