Elyria police Friday, Feb. 17 1:11 p.m. — East Bridge Street, assault. Ativiea Alexander, 32, of East Bridge Street, was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge and cited with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Alexander was charged after a 20-year-old Elyria woman said Alexander punched her in the face. When officers went to arrest Alexander, there was a pill bottle with marijuana inside on her kitchen table. Alexander was taken to the Lorain County Jail. Saturday, Feb. 18 2 a.m. — Clark and Prospect streets, operating a vehicle impaired. Randal Tomecko, 28, of Lorain, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of DUI, driving under suspension, and a lighted lights violation. An officer stopped Tomecko's Honda minivan because its headlights weren't on at 2 a.m. and it was following another vehicle only 1 to 2 feet behind, police said. Tomecko appeared intoxicated but refused sobriety and breath tests. He was arrested, booked, then released to a sober person. 2:05 a.m. — Clark Street, operating a vehicle impaired. Anthony Dechant, 43, of Princeton Avenue, was arrested on misdemeanor DUI and reckless operation charges. Officers stopped Dechant's Dodge Caravan on Clark Street near Winckles Street. Dechant said he was headed to a nearby bar to meet the mother of his child, but appeared intoxicated and failed three sobriety tests. Dechant refused breath and chemical tests and was released to a sober person. 4:41 a.m. — Cleveland Street, operating a vehicle impaired. Robert Henry, 31, of 11th Street, was arrested on misdemeanor DUI and hit-skip charges. Officers stopped Henry's Ford sedan after seeing it drive left of center, over a curb and hit a light pole while going 10 mph on Winckles Street. Henry appeared intoxicated, stumbled while getting out of his car, and failed sobriety tests. His blood-alcohol content tested at 0.193 percent at the Elyria Police Department. Henry was booked and released to a sober person. 7:07 p.m. — Middle Avenue and Ninth Street, failure to comply. Nanika Wilkerson, 43, of Ninth Street, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of failure to comply, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. According to police, this is what happened: Wilkerson's 2014 Ford Fusion was found running, parked in the middle of Ninth Street at Middle Avenue with its headlights off and hazard lights on. Wilkerson told police she didn't need to talk to them and when they turned on the lights and siren in their cruiser, she drove off. She then stopped on East Avenue and challenged the officers to write her a ticket. As officers tried to arrest her, Wilkerson pulled away and told them she was not going to jail. Wilkerson was taken to the ground, continued resisting, and called the officers racist. She was taken to the Lorain County Jail. 7:31 p.m. — Sixth Street, drug overdose. A 42-year-old Elyria woman was transported to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center for a suspected drug overdose. During the incident, Gordon Matheney, 64, of Fifth Street, was arrested on a warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff's Office. Officers seized an orange pill bottle with an unknown white powder inside that weighed 74.3 grams. The unknown powder tested negative for fentanyl and later turned out to be baby powder. 11:59 p.m. — Eighth Street, drug possession. Morgan Lemieux, 20, of Monticello Street, and Austin Rafter, 19, of Eighth Street, were arrested on felony fentanyl, oxycodone and psilocybin mushroom possession charges and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession charges. Officers responding to a report of a woman screaming for help inside a Jeep in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue found Lemieux and Rafter arguing in the street. Formerly a couple, each accused the other of physical assault but declined to file charges. Inside the Jeep were baggies with suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms, less than 1 gram of fentanyl, five prescription painkiller pills, 12.7 grams of marijuana, an unidentified pill, a digital scale, grinder and glass marijuana pipe. Lemieux and Rafter were taken to the Lorain County Jail. Sunday, Feb. 19 2:31 p.m. — Big Lots, Cleveland Street, theft. Estephana Pena, 39, of East River Street, was arrested on misdemeanor theft and obstructing official business charges. Pena is accused of stealing 14 items worth a total of $131.11 from the store at 825 Cleveland St. She gave officers a fake name, date of birth and Social Security number only one digit off from her real Social Security number, according to police. Stolen headphones, a clock, a trimmer kit, two lighters, a notebook, a fan, a comb set, fake nails, a necklace, sunglasses, hand cream, nail polish and eyeliner were recovered. Monday, Feb. 20 9:42 a.m. — Sprucewood Inn, Lorain Boulevard, drug investigation. James Price, 31, of Marseilles Avenue, was arrested on a felony heroin possession charge and a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession charge, and Tyler Ivey, 30, of Elbe Street, cited with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officers were called to the motel at 912 Lorain Blvd. to serve a warrant on Price, who was staying there and had felony warrants for his arrest through the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office. Officers seized bags of suspected heroin and fentanyl weighing more than 2 grams, items with suspected drug residue on them, three hypodermic syringes and a digital scale. Price admitted the drugs were his and was taken to the Lorain County Jail, police said. Ivey was cited and released with orders to appear in Elyria Municipal Court. 4:03 p.m. — Hanini Subs, Broad Street, drug possession. Eric Hayes, 38, of Grafton, was arrested on a felony fentanyl possession charge and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession charges. Officers found Hayes passed out behind the wheel of a Chevrolet HHR with a glass drug pipe on his lap, a small baggie of marijuana in the driver's door pocket and a digital scale in the front cupholder, police said. The pipe later tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl. LifeCare was called and medically cleared Hayes for transport to the Lorain County Jail. 4:34 p.m. — Giant Eagle, theft. Brooke Sprouse, 41, and Bradley Fussi Sr., 45, both of East Avenue, were cited with misdemeanor theft charges. Officers were called to the store at 320 Market Drive after Sprouse was seen taking meat and seafood from store shelves, hiding the food in a baby's diaper bag and trying to leave the store without paying, according to police. When confronted, Sprouse handed over the stolen food and Fussi said he would take responsibility for the theft. When officers arrived and interviewed the pair, Fussi blamed Sprouse while Sprouse blamed Fussi. A total of $104.84 worth of snow crab legs, beef loin and Delmonico steak was recovered by store employees. Fussi and Sprouse were released with orders to appear in Elyria Municipal Court. Tuesday, Feb. 21 10:01 a.m. — Courtyard by Marriott, Travelers Lane, obstructing. Rachael Jacob, 27, of Lodi, was arrested on a felony drug possession warrant through the Elyria Police Department and a misdemeanor obstructing official business charge. Jacob was staying in a room at the hotel paid for by a Florida man whose credit card had been declined several times. Hotel employees also reported drug use and drug paraphernalia in the room, and Jacob refused to cooperate with officers when they went to the room to talk to the occupants, according to police. She was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. 1:20 p.m. — Friendship Gas, Beechwood Drive, theft. Kathryn Grills, 23, of Wellington, was arrested on a misdemeanor theft charge. After being dropped off at the convenience store/gas station, Grills stole candy and opened and drank a Mountain Dew in the store without paying for it, according to police. Grills was found walking toward Lorain, and stolen candy worth $14.94 was found on her, police said. She was taken to the Lorain County Jail. 4:53 p.m. — Park Meadow Drive, domestic violence. Jacodimus Lee Jr., 20, of Park Meadow Drive, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence, assault and unlawful restraint. Lee's 20-year-old fiancee, an Elyria woman, said she was trying to move out of the apartment they shared when Lee slammed the door, held it shut and wouldn't let her leave. She said he also put her in a "bear hug" as she struggled to get away from him. Lee, who suffered a cut to his eyebrow during the incident, was treated at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, released, arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. 7:49 p.m. — Oberlin Road, burglary. Rolland Scales, 26, of Lorain, was arrested on felony charges of aggravated burglary and burglary, and misdemeanor charges of assault, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Officers called to a disturbance in the 200 block of Oberlin Road took Scales into custody after they say he resisted arrest. Scales' accusers said he was trying to track down the mother of his child and forced his way into her godmother's house looking for her while threatening the three women there — two 17-year-olds and a 59-year-old woman. Scales also allegedly shoved two of the women, stole a cellphone and he and another suspect ran away, police said. Due to injuries Scales apparently suffered during the burglary, he was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center for treatment, according to police. Sunday, Feb. 26 1:41 a.m. — Chestnut Street, operating a vehicle impaired. Trevor Bauer, 20, of Clark Street, was arrested on misdemeanor DUI, traffic control devices, no driver's license and marijuana possession charges. Bauer's Kia was stopped for speeding and failing to stop in time at an intersection, and he appeared intoxicated behind the wheel, police said. Bauer, who didn't have a valid driver's license, admitted drinking and smoking marijuana before driving and failed three sobriety tests. A 3.3-gram baggie of marijuana was found in his shorts, police say, and Bauer became irritable and vulgar with officers. He wasn't able to give a proper breath sample during booking at the Elyria Police Department, and was released to a sober person with orders to appear in court. 6:57 a.m. — Fourth Street, drug investigation. Siera Newton, 35, of Mendel Court; Robert Hughes, 53, of Furnace Street; and Darsel Morris, 48, of Riverside Court, were arrested: Newton on a felony animal cruelty charge and misdemeanor charges of abandoning animals and possession of drug paraphernalia; Hughes on a felony warrant for suspected aggravated robbery and a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge; and Morris on a misdemeanor obstructing official business charge. Officers were called for a report that all three were smoking crack cocaine in the laundry room at an apartment building in the 300 block of Fourth Street. Hughes and Newton were wanted by authorities and had drug pipes in their possession, police said. Officers said Morris gave them a fake name and date of birth but was identified anyway. All three were taken to the Lorain County Jail. 10:35 a.m. — Camelot Inn, Griswold Road, drug investigation. Brian Noble, 52, of Adams Street, and Carrie Pettry, 34, of Gateway Boulevard North, were arrested: Noble on misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and marijuana charges and Pettry on a felony drug possession charge and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia, obstruction and contempt of court charges. An officer on patrol near the Camelot Inn, 550 Griswold Road, saw Pettry acting suspiciously, according to the police report. She gave a Social Security number belonging to a man, and there were drugs and drug paraphernalia in her motel room, police said. Noble was cited with possessing marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia and released, and Pettry was taken to the Lorain County Jail. 11:31 a.m. — Mussey Avenue and West River Road South, failure to comply. Shikem Crutcher, 28, of South Abbe Road, was arrested on a felony breaking and entering charge, misdemeanor failure to comply, resisting arrest and obstructing official business charges, two felony warrants through the Lorain County Sheriff's Office, two misdemeanor traffic warrants through Elyria Municipal Court, and cited with driving under suspension and failure to register expired tags, both misdemeanors. An officer stopped Crutcher's car for having an expired registration. Crutcher didn't have his driver's license, gave the officer a fake Social Security number, and ran away from the traffic stop, police said. He is accused of breaking into a business in the 800 block of Infirmary Road, where an officer shocked him with a Taser, then took him to the Lorain County Jail. 3:01 p.m. — Lake Avenue and West River Road North, drug possession. Juan Kimbro, 54, of Erie Street, was arrested on felony kidnapping, illegal conveyance and cocaine possession charges and a misdemeanor assault charge. An officer stopped Kimbro's Chevrolet SUV because they knew Kimbro was wanted by police. Kimbro had multiple fake $100 bills in the car, police said, and there was a suspected bag of crack cocaine in his pocket when he was booked at the Lorain County Jail. 9:22 p.m. — 12th Street, burglary. Jazmire Judson, 21, of Middle Avenue, was arrested on a felony burglary charge. A 40-year-old Elyria woman said Judson broke into her house and ran off with her son's cellphone. The phone was recovered and Judson was taken to the Lorain County Jail. Monday, Feb. 27 3:33 p.m. — Weller Road, domestic violence. Rebecca Milks, 34, of Weller Road, was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence and assault charges. Milks is accused of hitting her 62-year-old mother in the face and spitting on her during an argument, then driving away, almost hitting her mother with the car, police said. The mother had cuts and bruises on her face. Milks later came to the Elyria Police Department to make a statement, where she was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail.
