Avon Lake police Thursday, Nov. 10 10:51 p.m. — Moore Road, telecommunications harassment. A 55-year-old woman reported an ongoing harassment issue with her 60-year-old husband. Tuesday, Nov. 15 11:30 a.m. — Orchard Park Drive, theft. A 50-year-old Avon Lake man reported seeing a passenger in the back seat of a black 2022 BMW X3 with Georgia license plates steal an item from his mailbox. The car was stopped, but officers weren't able to find the stolen item — a check for $14,450 — and released the occupants of the car, a Georgia man age 19 and a 16-year-old boy. Wednesday, Nov. 16 12:38 a.m. — Discount Drug Mart, theft. Angela Partin, 32, of Rachel Lane, was arrested on a misdemeanor theft charge. Pratin is accused of stealing two Scunci headwraps, two bottles of Parrot Bay rum, a Kit Kat bar and a pair of brown slippers from the store. She was issued a summons to appear in Avon Lake Municipal Court on Nov. 29. Thursday, Nov. 17 12:01 a.m. — Cottonwood Court, theft. A 59-year-old Avon Lake man reported someone stole two checks from his mailbox, written to Achieve Credit Union. The man canceled both checks and did not lose any money. Friday, Nov. 18 7:03 p.m. — Lear Road, psychiatric situation. The Nord Center Crisis Line called police to check on the welfare of a 16-year-old boy who had made suicidal comments to a friend. Officers spoke with the boy and his parents and he told them he was upset, but not suicidal. The parents said they would follow up with a counselor. Saturday, Nov. 19 1:57 p.m. — Lear Road, domestic violence. A 17-year-old Avon Lake girl was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. The girl hit her mother, 44, several times in the face. She was transported to the Turning Point juvenile shelter. The victim was treated at the scene by the Avon Lake Fire Department and did not require hospitalization. Sunday, Nov. 20 5:02 p.m. — Reflection Room Tattoo, Electric Boulevard, fraud. A suspect opened a checking account in the name of the business, stole $5,000 from its account, transferred the money to an Apple Pay account and used it to buy La Mer cosmetics online. The business contacted two banks to freeze any financial accounts, and also filed a fraud report with the Federal Trade Commission. 5:18 p.m. — Walker Road, personal injury. A Walker Road man was transported to Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital after he reported accidentally shooting himself while cleaning his gun. He was then transported to Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, where he was reportedly awake and talking. 10:53 p.m. — Canterbury Road, domestic violence. Todd Ziegler, 52, of Canterbury Road, was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence and assault charges. According to the police report, Ziegler allegedly knocked his 56-year-old wife's tooth out, then she called her stepson who called police on her behalf. Monday, Nov. 21 12:59 a.m. — Halle Court, domestic violence. Desiree Binder, 18, of Avon Lake, was arrested on a felony illegal conveyance charge and misdemeanor domestic violence, underage drinking, obstruction, disorderly conduct, tobacco possession, marijuana possession and marijuana paraphernalia possession charges. Binder allegedly was intoxicated and causing a disturbance at her home, police said. She was cited and ordered to appear in Avon Lake Municipal Court on Nov. 22.
