Mary Lee (nee Lynn) Cabbil

Mary Lee (nee Lynn) Cabbil departed her life on this Earth on Friday, November 4, 2022. She was the youngest child of seven children born to the late Beatrice Freeman Lynn. At an early age, Beatrice passed away leaving her children in the care of her parents, the late Ecca and Janie Freeman. After their passing, Mary was reared by her older sister, Jessie Lynn-Horn and the late Daniel Horn. She attended Elyria High School, then completed two years at the Lorain Business School in Elyria. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Macedonia C.O.G.I.C. She diligently served as President of the Sandusky District Hospitality Committee, Leader of the youth department, Church secretary, Pastor's Aid committee, Church Choir President, and many community services. She was employed by Luxaire as an office associate for two years. She later found her love for fashion and began working at a women's department store, Winkleman's, where she worked for over 30 years. After retirement, she decided to work as a bridal consultant at Sandra's bridal shop and later became store manager at another women's department store, The Avenue, until she permanently retired in 2019. She was united in holy matrimony to Wille James Cabbil, Sr. on May 16, 1964 at Macedonia C.O.G.I.C. In this union, she was blessed with two children, Lora (Greg) Jones, and Willie Jr. (late Magdolna) Cabbil, all of Elyria; five grandchildren, ShaLamar Helm, Tanisha Lovett-Helm of Elyria, Danielle Bergkamp of Phoenix, Arizona, Xavier Horne and Mya Harvey of Medina; two god-given grandchildren, Everson 'Wink' Jones of Elyria and Latara Helm of Lorain; one great-grandchild, Nayome Helm and seven god-given great-grandchildren, Ryan, Layla, and Lincoln Jones, Amiah Helm, Nadia Whitfield, Jayden and Jayliana Tapia; she also leaves to mourn her loss, her mother/sister, Jessie Lynn Horn; sisters-in-law, Bessie, Carrie, Lula, Annie (Orlando); brothers-in-law, Robert (Cathy), Eddie (Rosalie), Larry (Debra), George, Alex (Ann), Promis (Denita) and a host of nieces, nephews and family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Annabelle Lynn-Lawrence, and Mozelle (Adell) Nelson; brothers, Henry Lynn, Eddie Lynn, and L.B. Lynn; father/brother-in-law, Daniel Horn; mother-in-law, Mary Cabbil; father-in-law, Robert Cabbil; sister-in-law, Mattie Cabbil-Latham and Willie B. Cabbil-Allen. A service to celebrate the life of Mary Cabbil will be held Saturday, November 12th, 2022 with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at The Original Church of God in Christ, 512 Edward Avenue, Elyria, OH 44035. An interment service will be held after the celebration of life followed by the repast.
