Amherst police Friday, July 29 10:03 p.m. — state Route 58, traffic stop; citation issued for driving under suspicion and rear plate lights. Saturday, July 30 3 p.m. — Cleveland Avenue, report of a possible intoxicated driver. The vehicle matching the description was found parked on Park Avenue. The department was called two more times about the same vehicle, and ultimately the vehicle was found parked at a bar in another jurisdiction, South Amherst. The State Highway Patrol was contacted but the female driver was involved in an accident in which the vehicle struck a tree and flipped before the troopers arrived on scene. Tuesday, Aug. 2 10:58 p.m. — North Ridge Road, traffic stop; citation issued for display of lights. Wednesday, Aug. 3 2:57 a.m. — 100 block of Milan Ave., assisted emergency medical personnel to transport an elderly patient to the hospital. A man who called in the complaint was found to have an active warrant through Sheffield for traffic charges and was taken into custody and released to Sheffield police. Thursday, Aug. 4 12:11 a.m. — 702 N. Leavitt Road, random registration checks at Speedway led police to a driver with a suspended license; she was issued citations for driving under suspension and expired plates. 2:16 p.m. — 931 N. Leavitt Road, theft of a smart watch from the T-Mobile store reported. 2:58 p.m. — state Route 2, report of a disabled vehicle westbound with a smoking engine. The engine caught fire as officers arrived and the highway was shut down while firefighters put out the fire. The vehicle was towed. 4:46 p.m. — North Ridge Road, traffic stop; citation issued for driving under suspension, faulty exhaust, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Monday, Aug. 8 2:30 p.m. — met with a towing company in Vermilion to recover a stolen vehicle. The original license plate on the vehicle had been removed and replaced with a fictitious plate. Sunday, Aug. 14 8:02 a.m. — Middle Ridge Road, a pedestrian spotted walking along the road was determined to be missing from the East Windsor Police Department in Connecticut. The man, age 35, reported he recently returned to this area and is employed locally and doesn't choose to be found. The Connecticut agency was contacted and alerted he was found safe. Leavitt Road, report of a guest at Days Inn unresponsive from a suspected narcotics overdose; multiple doses of naloxone were given to revive the man, who was taken to the hospital. Tuesday, Aug. 16 6:58 p.m. — police department; a resident reported a possible stalking complaint. An officer met with the alleged suspect, who was told to cease the behavior. The alleged driver of the vehicle, Callie Martin, 31, of Wellington was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to control. No time given — North Leavitt Road, an unconscious man was reported at Motel 6 suffering from an expected narcotics overdose. Naloxone was administered and he was revived. Tuesday, Aug. 30 5:10 p.m. — police department, officers interviewed three family members regarding an incident that occurred at a residence in the 300 block of McIntosh Lane, involving a juvenile child. Lorain County Children Services was contacted and an investigation will follow, police said. Wednesday, Aug. 31 11:52 a.m. — 1500 block of Weaver Drive, a welfare check was requested; officers made contact with a man inside his home and determined the man was unable to care for himself. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
