Erving 'Erv' John Lambert

Erving John Lambert, 89, departed this life to his eternal resting place Sunday, July 10, 2022. Erv was born April 6, 1933 to parents, Chandley William Lambert and Clara Lambert (nee Trippe). There were 11 children which were raised in a rural farm setting in North Olmsted. Erving served in the Armed Services for eight years with the U.S. Army and Navy. Erving will be reunited with his wife of 64 years of marriage, Rachel Lambert (nee Huerta). Erving's story telling begins when he built their first home, a lot from his parent's property, with the help of his loving family, friends and neighbors. Together they raised their four children until I-480 affected the move to Columbia Station (53 years). Erving and Rachel had many happy memories watching their family grow up and the family gatherings kept being enriched with grandchildren and friends. They were members of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton. Erving Lambert was a 50 year plus member of the Operating Engineers-Local 18, Cleveland. Erv was a Master Mechanic for over 40 years retiring from the McLean Co., Cleveland. Being a mechanic, Erv was the Family 'Mr. Fix it' with just about any project at hand. Erv was happiest when riding around in his 1922 Model T Ford Truck which was rebuilt (after retiring) with his son and lifetime apprentice, Steve. The Model T was at the I-X center Piston Power Show and won trophies for five years, first place in class. Survivors include daughters, Mary Lambert-Washburn (Robert), Barbara Millward (Jeff) and Alice Rheaume (Charles); son, Steven Lambert (Pam); nine grandchildren, Vanessa Lambert-Hanchey, Matthew Prestien, Robert Wulff, Markus Mirandilla, Frank Caso, Chandley Lambert, Justin Lambert, Caitlin Rheaume and Charles Rheaume; 10 great-grandchildren, Arianna, Brielle, Madelyn, Carter, Steven and Isabella (twins) Marcos, Marvin, Marlisa and Michael. The family believes Erv (Rachel) had a full circle of life with the many roles they played in so many lives. Please say a prayer for Erv, as the story will continue through his family. The story is 'Erv left to see Rachel for their July 14th Anniversary. He did not want her to be waiting'. Honoring his wishes, private family services will be held at a later date. He will be interred at Columbia Station Cemetery.
