Elyria man indicted in fatal shooting at apartment complex in May

An Elyria man is facing multiple felonies in connection with a fatal shooting at the Colonnade Elyria apartments off Washington Avenue in May. Chi'Sean Oglesby, 22, of Washington Avenue, is charged with murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence in Lorain County Common Pleas Court. Additional firearms specifications allege that Oglesby used a gun in the commission of a crime. He was being held on a $1.1 million bond in Lorain County Jail. A message seeking comment was left for his attorney, Christopher McNeal. A Lorain County grand jury handed up the indictment against Oglesby on Thursday, in connection with a double shooting that happened the afternoon of May 23. Elyria police, fire and LifeCare EMS were called to the apartment complex after 22-year-old Damarco McNairy of Euclid was shot multiple times. He was taken first to University Hospitals Elyria Medical center, then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where he died shortly after 4 p.m. that same day. A 21-year-old Cleveland woman also suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to UH Elyria Medical Center and then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she was initially listed in stable condition. Elyria and East Cleveland police arrested Oglesby just after 9 p.m. the same day at an address on Farmington Road in East Cleveland, and he was transported to the Lorain County Jail. Oglesby has no prior felony criminal record in Lorain County. He was on probation for a burglary conviction in Cuyahoga County at the time of the shooting, according to court records there.
