More road and railroad work coming across Lorain County

The Ohio Department of Transportation and the Lorain County and city of Lorain engineer's offices have announced more road and railroad work will take place starting next week. Additional work will start and be completed within the first two weeks of July, ODOT said, weather permitting. Carlisle Township • The Grafton Road entrance ramp to U.S. 20 east will close July 5 for ramp reconstruction work. The work should be completed by July 12. • The Grafton Road entrance ramp to U.S. 20 west will close July 8, also for ramp reconstruction work. The work should be completed by July 15. Carlisle Township/Eaton Township State Route 57, both northbound and southbound, between Route 82 and Route 10/U.S. Route 20 will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in an adjacent, 11-foot-wide lane. Columbia Township Boone Road, between state Route 82 and Snell Road, will close Monday for a sanitary sewer project. The detour is Route 82 west to state Route 252 north to Snell Road east and in reverse. A completion date was not announced. Grafton • State Route 57, between Parsons Road and Railroad Street, will close July 5 for repairs to a railroad crossing. The work should be completed by July 8. Lorain Elyria Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Henderson Drive and East 21st Street and Broadway (at 17th Street) for two weeks starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday for road repairs, the city engineer's office said. Detours will be posted. Rochester Township The Lorain County Engineer's Office announced CSX Railroad will be closing crossings at Gore Orphanage Road, Route 511 and Anderson Road. Work on these crossings is scheduled to begin next week, with the only information being that closures are expected to be throughout the week, the engineer's office said. No specific dates or other information was given to the engineer's office by the railroad. Wellington Route 58, between Cemetery Road and Kent Street, will close July 5 for railroad crossing repairs. The work should be completed by July 9.
