Avon police Tuesday, May 28 10:45 a.m. — Interstate 90 eastbound, east of state Route 83, weapons violations. Norman Gill Jr., 25, of Cleveland, was arrested on felony charges of improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and having weapons under disability, and misdemeanor charges of illegal window tinting and driving under suspension. A traffic stop on a maroon 2012 Nissan Altima that reportedly did not have a rear registration sticker and had illegal window tinting resulted in Gill's arrest for illegal weapons possession. He was taken to the Lorain County Jail. A passenger, Tianna Doyle, 21, of Lorain, was cited with misdemeanor marijuana possession. Avon Lake police Friday, May 20 9:46 p.m. — Inwood Boulevard, domestic violence. A 27-year-old woman showed up at the Avon Lake Police Department to report domestic violence involving her husband, a 36-year-old Avon Lake man. She did not want to pursue charges and signed a waiver saying so. A report was filed for informational purposes. Wednesday, May 25 4:29 p.m. — Aqua Marine Boulevard, assault. A 71-year-old man told police a 27-year-old North Olmsted man assaulted him, then fled. The victim asked for medical treatment for a wound on his nose. He was treated at the scene and provided a statement. Saturday, May 28 6:50 p.m. — Lake Road and Brunswick Drive, operating a vehicle impaired. Tifini O'Grady, 26, of North Ridgeville, was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge. Officers stopped a black 2001 Chevrolet Silverado that was reported driving recklessly westbound on Lake Road from the Bay Village border. The truck was stopped on Lake Road near Moorewood Avenue, and O'Grady arrested and cited with DUI. She was ordered to appear in Avon Lake Municipal Court on May 31. Sunday, May 29 2:21 p.m. — Danbury Lane, lost/found property. A 73-year-old woman reported ordering a coin clutch from Amazon.com several days earlier. When she received the order, there were two of the same item in it and one had items inside including a Texas driver's license and 10 cards including an AARP card, credit cards and a Sam's Club membership card. The property was placed in evidence for safekeeping and the report was referred to the Detective Bureau. Monday, May 30 12:23 a.m. — Lake Road and Avondale Avenue, traffic complaint. An officer stopped a white motorcycle for failing to stop before entering a public roadway from a private driveway, but the motorcycle sped off and drove recklessly into Sheffield Lake. Police there were notified and Avon Lake officers ended the pursuit for public safety. 5:55 p.m. — Bleser Park, suspicious activity. Officers were dispatched to Bleser Park for a suspicious condition. 6:21 p.m. — Electric Boulevard, juvenile complaint. A 17-year-old girl was arrested and returned home after her mother said the girl left home without permission. The juvenile was briefly missing before being found by Sheffield Lake police and returned home. Her mother asked to press unruly juvenile charges and the report was to be forwarded to Lorain County Juvenile Court.
