Sherryn Rae Weiss

Sherryn Rae Weiss, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Born November 11, 1939, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, moving to Elyria as a toddler with her parents, Raymond and Beatrice Weiss, deceased. Sherryn graduated from Elyria High School in 1957, attended Ohio University and taught elementary school in Parma and Elyria schools for four years. She married James Trescott on July 27, 1963 and moved to Macedonia, Ohio, to raise their family. Returning to work after staying at home with her children, she worked as a proofreader for The Twinsburg Bulletin, a job where she could use her considerable skills for perfection in writing, grammar and spelling. Sherry was a proud and life-long liberal and liked studying history. She enjoyed her mornings with a cup of tea and homemade scones, looking out her windows at the birds in the trees and the flowers in her much loved gardens. She liked all kinds of music and was widely known and admired for her ability to sing all the words to the songs from the 'Hit Parade' of the 1940s and 1950s. She is survived by her children: daughter, Brett Warren; son, Jason Trescott (Rose); grandchildren, Robert, James and Emily Warren, Brad and Nicole Trescott; sisters, Sandy Perkins (Robert) and Linda Weiss; brother-in-law, Thomas Trescott and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her much loved and missed husband, Jim and will be buried with him at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. A private celebration of Sherryn's life is planned for Friday, May 20th, 2022 in Elyria.
