Elyria police Wednesday, Feb. 2 9:07 a.m. — Riverview Plaza, East Avenue, trespass. Annette Thomas, 58, of East Avenue, was arrested on a misdemeanor trespass charge. Thomas reportedly refused to leave after being evicted from her apartment by court order. She was cited, banned from the property and taken to her mother's house in Lorain. 9:17 a.m. — The Cottages at Riverview, Grandstand Lane and Sommer Way, drug trafficking. Sperling Prescott, 31, of Lorain, was arrested on felony charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and warrants through Lorain County and the Lakewood Police Department. Officers stopped a light blue Ford Edge for having expired plates and reportedly found Prescott driving. The car smelled of marijuana and officers found 43 individual bags of the drug, weighing a total of 371 grams, inside a red backpack on the floor of the car. Three cellphones and two digital scales also were seized. Prescott was taken to Lorain County Jail. 11:28 a.m. — Kensington Apartments, South Abbe Road, assault. Paris Kimbrough, 35, of South Abbe Road, was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge. Kimbrough allegedly punched a 23-year-old neighbor in the face and said "Keep my name out of your mouth you rat a-- b----." He was taken to Lorain County Jail. 2:59 p.m. — GameStop, Midway Boulevard, theft. Kamrynn Gray, 19, of Eighth Street, was issued a summons to appear in court on a misdemeanor theft charge. Officers reportedly responded to the store at 249 Midway Blvd. after Gray, an employee, was seen on store surveillance video ringing up GameStop gift cards, submitting the payments and cash and not putting any cash in the register. Three total transactions were worth $700. Gray was confronted about the theft, admitted to it and said he planned to pay the store back when he had the money. He wrote out a statement and apologized, and was issued a summons to appear in Elyria Municipal Court on Feb. 9. 4:40 p.m. — Diamond Products, Taylor Street, theft. A 64-year-old Fackler Avenue man reported that someone stole the catalytic converter from his red Ford F-250 pickup truck at the business at 1111 Taylor St. 6:51 p.m. — Bellfield Avenue, domestic violence. Johnathan Isenhart, 27, of Bellfield Avenue, was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence and assault charges. Isenhart, who has known mental health and substance use issues, reportedly asked his grandmother, 68, to give him $100 and drive him to buy anti-anxiety pills. When she refused, he demanded she drive him to buy drugs and hit her in the left side of the chest. She fell, got up, pushed and kicked him and then punched him in self-defense. She also reported he had punched and grabbed her on Feb. 1. Isenhart was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. Thursday, Feb. 3 5:52 a.m. — 10th Street, assault. Edward Jones Jr., 40, of 11th Street, was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge and two misdemeanor bench warrants. A 41-year-old Fifth Street woman reportedly said Jones pistol-whipped her two days earlier after Jones gave her $300 to buy drugs but she spent it and he wanted his money back. Jones was found hiding in the attic and admitted being at a known drug house but "doesn't do drugs himself." He was taken to the Lorain County Jail. Friday, Feb. 4 10:20 p.m. — Interstate 90 West to Lorain Boulevard/I-90, operating a vehicle impaired. Michael Galbreath, 78, of Kimberly Circle, was cited with misdemeanor charges of DUI and slow speed. Officers responding to a report of a disabled vehicle in the snow on the I-90 off ramp reportedly found Galbreath in the driver's seat, smelling of alcohol and having urinated on himself. Galbreath said he was drinking at Mulligan's Pub on Colorado Avenue in Avon and was on his way home to Oberlin when he got stuck. He said he urinated on himself because he couldn't get his pants unzipped in time. Galbreath's blood-alcohol content was 0.054 percent, and he was cited and released to a sober person after his car was towed. Saturday, Feb. 5 2:49 a.m. — Middle Avenue and 11th Street, operating a vehicle impaired. Nicholas Hurst, 28, of Virginia Avenue, was arrested on misdemeanor DUI, driving under suspension and failure to control charges. An officer reportedly found Hurst's tan Ford sedan stuck on a concrete median and in the snow with Hurst passed out behind the wheel. He smelled of alcohol, gave an officer two cigarettes when asked for his ID and said "this is my ID" when told the cigarettes were not his ID. Hurst needed help standing when he got out of his car, said he was at Bugsy's at 348 Broad St. where he drank too much but "did the responsible thing and took a nap." After refusing a breath test, Hurst again passed out at the police station, and when he woke up thought he was still at Bugsy's. He was cited, his car was towed, and he was released to a sober adult. Sunday, Feb. 6 1:13 a.m. — Fox Hill Lane and West River Road North, domestic violence. Brandon Ball, 33, of Fox Hill Lane, was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge and a misdemeanor disorderly conduct by intoxication charge. Ball's 36-year-old girlfriend told police Ball pushed and shoved her during an argument. Ball was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. He has two prior domestic violence convictions, including one felony in Lorain County Common Pleas Court. 2:06 a.m. — Cleveland Street, operating a vehicle impaired. Ashley Bender, 37, of Lorain, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of DUI, refusal to submit to chemical tests, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct by intoxication, reckless operation and having an expired registration. Bender reportedly caused a disturbance at Chris's Place at 515 Clark St.; refused to leave and was pulled over on Cleveland Street for not turning on her headlights and having expired plates. She smelled of alcohol, slurred her words and swore at an officer when ordered out of the car. She had to be dragged out of her car, became dead weight and flopped onto the street, refusing to get up. Bender also struggled while being handcuffed; had to be carried to a police cruiser; urinated on herself; screamed, belittled and cursed at officers; and refused breath tests. She was taken to Lorain County Jail. Bender has three prior DUI arrests, one in 2012 and two in 2006.
