Ellen M. Yearley

Ellen M. Yearley (nee Meyers), 73, a life resident of Elyria, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Ellen was born February 13, 1948 to the late Kenneth and Mary (nee Dittman) Meyers. She was a 1966 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and also a graduate of Hamilton College. Throughout her life, Ellen was employed as a medical transcriptionist working for physicians in the Greater Cleveland area and then at Mercy Tri-City, Lorain. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, building puzzles, going to bingo games, and rose gardening. Ellen was a member of Elyria Eagles Aerie No. 431. Survivors include her four children, Angie (Brian) Widener, Jennifer (Rick) Collins, Wendy Yearley and Tad (Heaven) Yearley; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and sisters, Judy (Benny) Amend and Debbie (Carl) Cooper. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James A. Yearley (2018) and their infant stillborn son in 1972. Friends will be received at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Avenue, Lorain on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m.
