Amherst police Tuesday, Nov. 30 3:30 p.m. — state Route 2, report of a vehicle off the road; citation issued for driving under suspension. 3:31 p.m. — 900 block of Tarry Lane, structure fire contained to a garage; determined to be started by a juvenile playing with fire. 5:29 p.m. — 450 Washington St., violation of a protection order reported; it was determined the man involved was unaware the woman involved was present, and he left voluntarily. Wednesday, Dec. 1 6:48 a.m. — no location given, a resident reported receiving unwanted, harassing texts and phone calls from a man. Thursday, Dec. 2 1 p.m. — 450 Washington St., a student, 18, was cited with possession of marijuana. 1:35 p.m. — 450 Washington St., a student, 16, was cited as an unruly juvenile. 10:14 p.m. — 934 N. Leavitt Road, a disturbance was reported at Days Inn. One woman was taken into custody on an active warrant and released to Lorain police. Two other women were told they were no longer welcome inside the room. 7:01 p.m. — police department, violation of a protection order reported. Friday, Dec. 3 9:42 a.m. — 100 block of Park Avenue, a man reported arriving to work and finding a broken door handle to the rear of a business and other attempted signs of attempted entry. 11:42 p.m. — 47190 Cooper Foster Park Road, two catalytic converters reported stolen overnight from vehicles at Premier Toyota; investigation is pending. Saturday, Dec. 4 2:31 p.m. — 2273 Kresge Drive, officers were called to BeBe Nails for a report of an adult female threatening a juvenile female regarded alleged bullying at Marion L. Steele High School. Possible charges are pending. 3:48 p.m. — 1800 block of Cooper Foster Park Road, welfare check for a man sitting on a bench. The man was voluntarily taken to the hospital and cited with intoxicated disorderly conduct. 7:53 p.m. — no location given, a passenger was taken into custody on an active warrant and released to North Ridgeville police. 7:53 p.m. — state Route 58, traffic stop; citations issued for driving under suspension and expired plates. Sunday, Dec. 5 9:57 a.m. — 1999 Cooper Foster Park Road, theft reported at Pure Gas Station of cigarettes and cigars. 1:22 p.m. — 917 N. Leavitt Rd., assisted emergency medical personnel with a customer with a medical issue at Blue Sky Restaurant that caused a private property accident. Monday. Dec. 6 3:14 p.m. — Sharondale Drive, a resident reported a suspicious man asking residents to blow leaves out of yards with a leaf blower. Police located the man, who told police he was homeless and looking to make extra cash. He was taken into custody on an active warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of larceny and released to Elyria police. Tuesday, Dec. 7 2:04 p.m. — police department, a man wanted on an active warrant for OVI turned himself in and was taken to the Lorain County Jail. Wednesday, Dec. 8 12:16 a.m. — state Route 2, traffic stop; citation issued for license forfeiture and expired plates. 3:30 p.m. — 1971 Cooper Foster Park Roa., theft reported at Tractor Supply Company; an employee reported a man dressed in "dark clothing" left the store with unknown merchandise. The incident is under investigation. Thursday, Dec. 9 8:14 a.m. — police department, a complainant reported a road rage incident in which a man pointed a gun out a vehicle window. Leavitt Rd., report of the theft of two coupon books from Discount Drug Mart; citations for petty theft issued. 7:51 p.m. — Linn Road, traffic stop; citations issued for license forfeiture suspension and expired plates. Friday, Dec. 10 3:27 a.m. — Lorain County Jail, warrant served. 12:10 p.m. — 2051 Cooper Foster Park Rd., damage reported to a bank machine at LorMet Credit Union. Security video showed a man using a firearm to hit it. 10:18 p.m. — state Route 58, traffic stop; citation issued for driving under suspension and child restraint. 11:45 p.m. — 712 N. Leavitt Rd., domestic disturbance; parties separated. Saturday, Dec. 11 2:48 a.m. — 100 block of South Leavitt Road, a 911 hang-up led to a traffic stop and a man was taken into custody for an active warrant for criminal damaging and released to Lorain police. 9:28 a.m. — 2201 Kresge Dr., private property accident. 1:21 p.m. — police department, a woman reported her juvenile daughter is receiving texts from an adult man. 1:55 p.m. — 900 block of N. Leavitt Rd., private property accident. 7:04 p.m. — East Martin Avenue, possible protection order violation reported. 9:43 p.m. — Church Street, traffic stop; citation issued for expired plates. 11:58 p.m. — North Leavitt Road, citations issued for expired plates and lighted lights. Sunday, Dec. 12 1:17 a.m. — North Main Street, traffic stop; Todd Beljan, 48, of Lorain, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusing to submit to breath testing, driving in marked lanes and weaving. Monday, Dec. 13 5:04 p.m. — met Sheffield Village police to transfer a prisoner. Tuesday, Dec. 14 3:31 a.m. — 47505 Cooper Foster Park Rd., a woman reported a man she was "messing around with" punched her in the face in a vehicle in the parking lot and fled. The incident is under investigation. Wednesday, Dec. 15 9:20 p.m. — 1953 Cooper Foster Park Rd., report of a man passed out behind the wheel of a car. The man woke up and drove off, leading police on a chase into Vermilion before abandoning the car and fleeing on foot. Friday, Dec. 17 10:14 a.m. — 2201 Kresge Drive, a man at Giant Eagle was reported having a change in mental condition; taken to the hospital. 4:58 p.m. — police department, a resident reported a vehicle was stolen from her driver and wrecked in Elyria, and was currently sitting in the Elyria impound lot. An investigation is pending. 10:02 p.m. — 600 block of Cleveland Avenue, a woman reported her husband was outside "acting weird." The man, 57, had an active warrant for weapons under disability and police arrived to find the man leaving in a car. He was stopped, taken into custody, and released to Erie County deputies. Saturday, Dec. 18 8:58 a.m. — 300 block of Lincoln Street, warning given of expired registration. 9:37 a.m. — state Route 2, vehicle left stopped on a highway exit ramp blocking the roadway was towed after attempts to reach the owner were unsuccessful. 12:51 p.m. — Cleveland Avenue, traffic stop; Crystal L. Wilson, 41, of Lorain was issued citations for improperly handling firearms in a vehicle, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Sunday, Dec. 19 11:45 a.m. — state Route 58, officers were called by a driver who reported another vehicle was brandishing weapons and described the car. The car was located and stopped. Jordan E. Logan, 20, of Florida was charged with obstructing official business and released to Lorain police due to a prior incident. The vehicle was towed. Monday, Dec. 20 11:07 a.m. — 350 N. Leavitt Rd., private property accident. 2:18 p.m. — 100 block of Orchard Hill Drive, welfare check for a resident. Wednesday, Dec. 22 2:10 p.m. — police department, fraud reported. Thursday, Dec. 23 2:41 a.m. — 604 N. Leavitt Road, a Wendy's employee reported an occupied vehicle in the parking lot for several hours. Police cited the 20-year-old driver for underage possession of alcohol and open container and a 16-year-old passenger for a curfew violation after she was found to be missing from Oberlin. 7:38 a.m. — no location given, traffic stop; driver Manual Brown, 19, of Lorain was found to have active warrants for contempt of court on domestic violence charges and failure to appear on reckless operation charges and taken into custody. He was released to Lorain police. Brown was cited for driving under suspension and expired plates. 1:07 p.m. — 500 N. Leavitt Road, private property accident at McDonald's. 5:44 p.m. — Cleveland Avenue and Washington Street, three-vehicle crash. One driver, Jason J. Etherington, 45, of Amherst was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and maintaining assured clear distance. 6:11 p.m. — 193 Park Ave., a woman reported a truck backed into her vehicle and left the area. 10:40 p.m. — state Route 58, officers stopped a vehicle driving southbound in the northbound lanes near Cooper Foster Park Road. Citations were issued for driving under suspension and driving on divided roadways. Friday, Dec. 24 2:51 p.m. — North Main Street, traffic stop; citation issued for expired plates. Saturday, Dec. 25 6:04 a.m. — 45000 block of North Ridge Road, an unresponsive woman was found in a vehicle, later declared deceased. An investigation is pending. No further information was released. 12:31 p.m. — police department, verbal domestic dispute reported regarding custody of a child. 2:35 p.m. — state Route 58, report of a reckless driver striking a utility pole and continuing northbound Eriberto Salvodo Diego, 27, of Mexico was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and failure to stop after an accident. 10:23 p.m. — 712 N. Leavitt Rd., random registration check on a vehicle at Speedway found a man wanted on an active warrant; Derek A. Zimmerman, 29, of Amherst was taken into custody for possession of a fentanyl-related compound and taken to Lorain County Jail. Sunday, Dec. 26 11:34 a.m. — 704 N. Leavitt Road, unresponsive man reported; later declared deceased. An investigation is pending. No further information was released. 1:36 a.m. — 46000 block of Middle Ridge Road, traffic stop, citations issued for no operator's license and expired plates. 4:53 p.m. — 1971 Cooper Foster Park Rd., an employee at Tractor Supply Company reported a man stole a tank of propane after disputing the price he was charged. The employee followed the man to the parking lot and provided police with his license plate information. Once officers contacted the man, however, the man had a receipt to prove he purchased the items. The store employee did not provide further information regarding the incident but a manager later said it was the store's error. Monday, Dec. 27 2:39 p.m. — 700 block of Valley Drive, a husband and a wife reported to police they had both done nothing to each other; police determined there was an ongoing civil issue.
