Crushers manager Dan Rohn and pitching coach Greg Cadaret retiring

AVON — Change has come to the Lake Erie Crushers. The team announced Monday that manager Dan Rohn and pitching coach Greg Cadaret are retiring. "Dan Rohn and Greg Cadaret have a combined 80 years in professional baseball and can both look back at incredible careers," Crushers co-owner Tom Kramig said in a news release. "They have both competed at the highest levels as players and helped thousands of young players achieve their dreams as a manager and coach. We will miss seeing them at Mercy Health Stadium." The Crushers, who finished the season 41-55 and well out of the playoffs, will begin a search for a new manager immediately the release said. Rohn played college ball at Central Michigan and was drafted in the fourth round of the 1977 Major League Draft by the Chicago Cubs. An infielder, he made his Major League debut in 1983 and played in 48 games for the Cubs in 1983 and '84. he also played six games for and was part of the 1984 Chicago Cubs. He also played six games with the Indians in 1986. After his playing career was over, he began his managing career with the Minnesota Twins Rookie League team. He managed more than 3,000 games in a 38-year minor league career, being named Manager of the Year five times. He was also a coach for the Seattle Mariners under Lou Piniella and for the San Francisco Giants under Bruce Bochy. Cadaret was drafted by the Oakland A's in the 11th round out of Grand Valley State in 1983. He made it to the majors in 1987 and had a 10-year career pitching for eight teams. He was 38-32 with a 3.99 ERA and 14 saves.He appeared in more than 450 games, pitching 724 innings and striking out 539 hitters. He played in the 1988 World Series as a member of the A's, allowing no runs in three appearances. He has been a studio analyst for the Oakland Athletics, while also coaching and managing, including the Traverse City Beach Bums, formerly of the Frontier League.
