Elyria police blotter for Aug. 30, 2021

Elyria police Friday, Aug. 13 3:30 a.m. — Lorain County Jail, warrant service. Marlon Smith, 24, Furnace Street, was arrested on a contempt of court warrant through Elyria Municipal Court. Thursday, Aug. 12 2:53 p.m. — Oberlin Road, warrant service. Jason Burkholder, 43, Amherst, was arrested on two bench warrants through Elyria Municipal Court in a criminal case from 2019 and a traffic case from 2020, and cited with speeding and driving under suspension — license forfeiture. An officer stopped Burkholder's truck for going 50 to 55 mph in a 35 mph residential zone. Burkholder was arrested and taken to Lorain County Jail. 5:21 p.m. — Huntington Bank, Court Street, weapons offenses. Mondrell Green, 30, South Abbe Road, was arrested on felony charges of having weapons under disability, carrying a concealed weapon, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and DUI, and misdemeanor charges of using weapons while intoxicated and driving under suspension. Green was seen brandishing a black handgun in the parking lot of the bank at 105 Court St. Officers found his silver Mercury sedan parked in front of Bugsy's Speakeasy on Broad Street. Green was intoxicated and officers found a .40-caliber Glock 22 handgun, cannabis edibles and two open containers of alcohol in the car. Green refused sobriety tests and was taken to Lorain County Jail. He was forbidden from owning or possessing firearms due to two prior drug-related felony convictions and had been convicted of DUI six times since 2008. 6:38 p.m. — Bohannon Court, domestic violence. Jose Miranda, 28, Bohannon Court, was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge and a misdemeanor assault charge. Miranda accused his 31-year-old girlfriend of cheating on him and allegedly pushed her onto a couch, strangled her and bit her on the lower back before threatening to kill her and their children. He was taken to Lorain County Jail. 11:20 p.m. — Sidelines Bar, Fairlawn Avenue, suspicious activity. Toshia Killings, 34, South Abbe Road; Danielle Coy, 39, Marseilles Avenue; and Kristen Turner, 36, Marseilles Avenue, were arrested on misdemeanor charges including failure to disperse, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Officers found more than 100 people in the parking lot of the bar at 105 Fairlawn Ave. drinking, dancing and jumping on cars. Most of the crowd dispersed after being asked to do so. Turner stayed, argued with an Elyria police sergeant and struggled with officers who tried to handcuff her when she refused their commands. Coy tried to interfere in Turner's arrest, ran screaming at police officers and also was arrested. Killings refused to listen to officers, shouted at them, made an obscene gesture with her middle finger and was arrested. All three women were taken to Lorain County Jail.
