Timothy Michael Smith

Timothy Michael Smith, 59, lifelong resident of Avon, died Saturday, May 1, 2021 after a several month illness. He was born July 20, 1961 in Lorain. Tim graduated in 1979 from Avon High School and attended IT courses at Lorain County Community College. He worked in the family grocery business and later was employed as a cable technician and trainer for Spectrum. Tim was a real outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing and range shooting. He was an avid supporter of the 2nd amendment and the NRA. He also loved classic cars, and NASCAR. Having interests in cooking, farming, canning and wine making, Tim loved generously sharing his creations with his friends. It was fitting that he was born on the day man first walked on the moon, because he had a lifelong passion for astronomy. Photography, art and collecting music were some of his other hobbies. However, his greatest joy was sharing time with friends who knew him as 'Smitty' or 'Smitoli'. He was a true and trusted friend to any who had the fortune of knowing him. Tim was always willing to help and go the extra mile for anyone he cared about. He loved his small town of Avon and the people in it. Tim will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his siblings, Patricia Ann Kovacs of Sun City, Arizona, Marc Smith of Avon, Cheryl Smith of Arvada, Colorado and Suzanne M. (Richard) Smith of Hinckley; nine nieces and nephews and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George F. Smith, Sr. and Annie (nee Panchula) Smith; twin sisters, Patricia and Mary Ann Smith and brother, George F. Smith, Jr. Friends will be received at a memorial visitation at Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 from 2 to 8 p.m. A parlor service will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
