Grand jury indicts man in January 2017 Lorain homicide

ELYRIA — A Lorain County grand jury has indicted a Lorain man accused of shooting and killing another man in Lorain more than four years ago. Vincent Lee, 30, with a last known address on Stonepath Street, recently was indicted on charges of murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence. He pleaded not guilty to the charges before Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Chris Cook and was being held in Lorain County Jail on $2 million bond, according to court and jail records. A message seeking comment on the case was left for Lee's attorney of record, Anthony Baker. Lee was arrested in January after being sought by Lorain police in connection with the shooting death of 26-year-old Albert Ross III in a home on Reid Avenue in that city in January 2017. He had been the subject of an arrest warrant for just over four years when he was arrested Jan. 8. Authorities said Lee shot Ross to death while Ross was visiting a home in the 300 block of Reid Avenue at about 1 a.m. Jan. 4, 2017. Ross, a 2008 graduate of Southview High School who also attended Lorain County Community College, was survived by three children and his pregnant girlfriend, his family previously told The Chronicle-Telegram. Police have not given a motive for the slaying. Lee was quickly identified as a suspect, a warrant was issued for his arrest and more than $5,000 in reward money was offered by Lorain police and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for information leading to his capture. Lee made the fugitive task force's "Dangerous Dozen" list of fugitives prior to his arrest.
