Dr. David Love

Dr. David Love, son of John and Ardeth Love, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021. He was born February 10, 1945. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Cherry; three children, Jennifer, Jeffrey (wife, Rachel) and Jeanine (Aric Hiser, deceased); his sister, Jane (husband, Russ); brother, Jack (wife, Janet McKim); two grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. Dave founded Westlake Animal Hospital in 1974 and lived up to his motto 'where love is part of the treatment' until his retirement in 2017. Dave was a member of his veterinary fraternity, OTS, Westlake Kiwanis, Dover Congressional Church, Rockwell Springs Trout Club and participated in many other community activities earning him and Cherry the title of Mr. and Mrs. Westlake in 1989. Dave enjoyed playing ragtime on the piano, fly fishing and trains of any and all types, but of his many achievements and interests, his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, loving and wise father and doting grandfather. Cherry was the love of his life and his children the center of his world. Their home overflowed with love, laughter, music and a menagerie of pets who benefitted from the love and care he provided so generously. Dave is remembered as a man who loved abundantly, never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by family and many friends. Services will be held at Dover Congressional Church on a date and time to be determined.
