Elyria police Tuesday, Feb. 2 7:08 p.m. — Pennsylvania Avenue, domestic violence. Raymond McCune, 41, was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge and misdemeanor assault charge. Officers responding to a domestic violence complaint in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue learned the 40-year-old female victim had broken up with McCune and was packing her belongings when he "flipped out," shoved her to the ground, and threw something at her that cut her right forearm. McCune screamed at officers "that he didn't do anything" and demanded they leave, but he was arrested and taken to Lorain County Jail. Lorain County Children Services was called to investigate as the incident took place in front of McCune's son. McCune has two prior domestic violence convictions, including a felony in 2018. 4:40 p.m. — Mendel Court, burglary. Robert Martin, 41, of East Avenue, was arrested on felony aggravated burglary and theft charges. Officers responding to a theft complaint at Bailey's Bar & Grill, 800 West River Road, were told Martin had stolen a woman's purse containing at least 10 credit cards, a driver's license, $60 in cash and her Social Security card. About 20 minutes later, officers were called to Mendel Court for a report that Martin was armed and kicking in doors trying to enter homes and had destroyed a fence. He reportedly had earlier been asked to leave a house on Mendel Court because he was being a nuisance, and this time managed to push his way inside a home there before the resident pushed him back out. The purse belonging to the woman at Bailey's was found in a trash can nearby, and no gun was found on Martin or the streets near where he was arrested. He was taken to Lorain County Jail. 2:08 p.m. — Bohannon Court, theft. A 52-year-old Bohannon Court woman reported that she had a purple iPhone 11 worth $875 delivered to the house she was going to move into on Jan. 29, with delivery for Jan. 30, but the phone did not arrive as planned. The company reported the phone had been delivered Jan. 28. A police report was needed for the woman to get a replacement phone. No suspects were identified. Wednesday, Feb. 3 11:10 p.m. — Broad Street, suspicious activity. The property manager of 345 Broad St. called police to report two units in the building had been broken into. Damage was found to a window and nothing was reported stolen despite the building undergoing renovation and tools and supplies being stored there. A tenant also reported that he believed people were having sex in one of the empty units around 6 p.m. that same day. 9:07 p.m. — North Pasadena Avenue, domestic violence. Michael Corrado, 41, of Pasadena Avenue, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and domestic violence. Corrado had been living at a motel in Amherst while undergoing drug treatment and allegedly texted his wife, 54, of Elyria, that he was coming home to kill her and her sister, asking her for money and then threatening more violence. Amherst police arrested Corrado and he was handed over to the custody of Elyria police before being taken to the Lorain County Jail. 7:19 p.m. — Water's Edge Apartments, East Avenue, obstructing. Jose Algarin, 39, of Wellington, was issued a summons to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business. Officers responding to a disturbance at the complex, 1308 East Ave., learned two men and a woman were fighting somewhere on the second floor. Algarin was named as one of the suspects and when approached by police denied being involved and allegedly gave a fake name and birth date. He was cited and released with orders to appear in Elyria Municipal Court on Feb. 10. 7:11 p.m. — Elyria Police Department, West Avenue, warrant service. Chad Gonzales, 37, of Bellevue, was arrested on two bench warrants through Elyria Municipal Court in a 2019 traffic case and a 2019 criminal case. An agent with AA Midtown Bail Bonds handed Gonzales over to Elyria police and he was taken to Lorain County Jail. 2:47 p.m. — Wood Street, drug possession. Tyshaun Washington, 35, of Washington Avenue, was issued a summons on a felony cocaine possession charge and misdemeanor driving under suspension and right of way violation charges. An officer stopped Washington's black 2009 Chrysler van after it failed to stop at a stop sign at South Maple Street and Middle Avenue. Following the stop, police say Washington admitted hiding a baggie of 3.6 grams worth of cocaine in his buttocks, and the drugs were retrieved and surrendered to police. He was ordered to appear in Elyria Municipal Court on Feb. 4 and released.
