Iris S. Monda

Iris S. Monda (nee Pearson), 88, died peacefully at the home of her daughter after a brief illness. She was born in St. Peter, Minnesota to Lyle and Elsie Pearson and lived most of her adult life in North Ridgeville and Avon. For the past year, she resided at the Elyria Wesleyan Village. She was employed as a vending hostess for Servomation and Banner Vending Companies, then later became a home caregiver for the elderly. She was very active in the Avon Senior Center and was a former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Avon Lake. She will always be remembered for her infectious laughter and he love of telling jokes. She is survived by her son, Chuck (Bev) Breehne; daughters, Charlene (Richard) White and Janette (Keith) Johnson with whom she made her home for the past month; her nine grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as 'Pocker', Renee Truxall, Tanya Meyer, Steve Breehne, Tim Breehne, Laura Rollins, Lashay White, Janelle Weller, Heather Hardwick and Patrick (P.K.) Johnson; stepchildren, Andrew, Nick, Pat, Michael, Pete and Mark Monda, Frances Martinez, Mary Ann Haught; her sister, Katherine Ludwigson; brother, Emery Pearson and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Breehne, Sr.; second husband, Andrew Monda, Sr., brothers, Norman and Ross Pearson and a great-grandson, Tyler Weller. Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. with The Reverend Kurt Walker, Chaplain of Wesleyan Village, presiding. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. CDC guidelines will be followed and masks will be required. Memorial are requested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
