Lorain County Commissioner Matt Lundy named board president of NOACA for 2021

The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency Board of Directors has elected Lorain County Commissioner Matt Lundy as board president for 2021. Lundy has served on the NOACA board since 2015. He chairs the board's Executive Committee and has held positions including vice chair of the External Affairs Committee in 2018 and chairman in 2019. Lundy also has served on the Planning & Programming, Governance and Finance & Audit committees since 2015 and Policy Committee in 2017. "I am extremely honored to take on this role and I thank the NOACA board of directors for the opportunity. NOACA is well positioned to help enhance the quality of life throughout Northeast Ohio," Lundy said. "Together with our board of directors, staff, and stakeholders, we are making a positive difference and will continue to work towards a vision that promotes and cooperatively develops plans for safe, economical and environmentally sound transportation for our regional growth and equitable future." NOACA, which conducts transportation and environmental planning for Northeast Ohio, elects board presidents to one-year terms. Lundy is a graduate of Avon Lake High School and Lorain County Community College and earned a bachelor's degree in human resource management from Friends University. Lundy has served on the Lorain County Board of Commissioners since November 2014. He also was an elected state representative in Columbus from 2007 to 2015, where he served on the Finance and State & Local Government committees and was chairman of the Consumer Affairs & Economic Protection Committee. He previously served on Avon Lake City Council and was assistant safety service director for the city of Elyria. Before that, he was an award-winning investigative reporter and TV news anchor. NOACA represents state, county, city, village and township officials in greater Cleveland and addresses the transportation, air quality and water quality needs of Lorain, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Medina counties. The agency and its partners develop and implement plans to ensure that travel throughout the region is safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound.
