Lorain residents facing felony drug charges over West 17th Street raid

ELYRIA — Three Lorain residents are due back in court this month on drug trafficking and related felony charges after a police raid in March turned up drugs and guns inside a West 17th Street residence. Alicia Bracy, 33, of East 29th Street; Christopher Shannon, 30, of West 17th Street; and Antron Robinson, 39, of Crehore Street, were indicted by a Lorain County grand jury in May on felony charges including trafficking cocaine, trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of weapons under disability, tampering with evidence and possession of criminal tools, according to Lorain County Common Pleas Court records. All three have pleaded not guilty to the charges and are free on bond, with their cases pending in Judge Christopher Rothgery's courtroom. In a search warrant affidavit signed by Judge James Miraldi on March 5 and recently unsealed in court, the Lorain Police Department was given permission to search Shannon's residence at 812 W. 17th St. in Lorain for cocaine, cash and other items related to alleged drug trafficking. Bracy, Robinson and Shannon were "persons of interest" in an ongoing drug investigation by the Lorain Police Department Narcotics Bureau. In the affidavit, Lorain Police Detective Craig Payne wrote that confidential informants and "numerous" anonymous complaints alleged the three were dealing cocaine in the city. On multiple occasions, a confidential informant purchased cocaine from Robinson and Shannon inside the house at 812 W. 17th St., often while Bracy was there. On Feb. 21, 0.1 grams of cocaine was purchased while Bracy, Shannon and an unidentified woman with a child younger than 3 were, as was a firearm in the living room, according to the affidavit. Another buy was made Feb. 24, and a third March 4 during which half a gram of cocaine was purchased after Bracy weighed and packaged it and Shannon took the money, according to the affidavit. A records check showed that Shannon has a felony record, which prohibits him from being in the presence of, owning or possessing firearms under Ohio and federal law. A March 6 search by Lorain police turned up multiple packages containing drugs, multiple digital scales allegedly used to weigh drugs, two bags of marijuana edibles and multiple bags of marijuana, multiple prescription bottles and pills, cash in an unlisted amount, credit card and three cellphones. Police also recovered five loaded handguns from bedrooms, the kitchen and basement of the house: A .40-caliber Glock 22, a .45-caliber Hi-Point JHP, a 9mm M&P 9M2.0, a 9 mm Canik TP9SA and a .380-caliber Kel-Tec P3AT, according to an inventory filed with the search warrant. Additional ammunition also was seized. Shannon's next hearing is in Rothgery's court on Aug. 19, where a trial date will be set, according to court records. Robinson also is due back in Rothgery's court Aug. 19, and has a trial set for Dec. 14. Bracy will be back in Rothgery's court Aug. 26, according to court records.
