Elyria police blotter for June 8-11, 2020

Elyria police Monday, June 8 8:25 p.m. — Griswold Road, violating a temporary protection order. Carlos Brown, 28, of Lorain, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violating a protection order. Officers were called to an apartment in the 500 block of Griswold Road for a disturbance and found that Brown reportedly had shown up at a 28-year-old woman's door, refusing to leave despite her having a protection order against him. Brown was found on the bathroom floor inside the apartment, intoxicated and with his pants below his knees, exposing his genitals. After being checked out at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, he was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. 2:39 p.m. — Pin Oak Circle, animal complaint. Kenneth Bahl, 73, of Island Drive, was cited with dog at-large, a misdemeanor. Nancy Gardner, 71, of Pin Oak Circle, reported that while she was out on a walk with her dog, Bahl's unleashed white bulldog attacked her and her dog and knocked her down on the concrete. Gardner was awaiting the results of X-rays to find out any injuries. Bahl said his dog slipped out of its collar and that he would buy a body harness to prevent future incidents. 1:25 p.m. — Lorain County Jail, warrant service. Darrell Grantham, 54, of Bell Avenue, was arrested on a bench warrant through Elyria Municipal in a 2017 misdemeanor driving under suspension case. He was provided a copy of his warrant and was being held at the jail pending a court date. Tuesday, June 9 8:52 a.m. — Washington Avenue, theft. Two 19-year-old Washington Avenue women, Arriyanna Redman and Savannah Worthy, reported that sometime between 10:30 p.m. June 8 and 8:52 a.m. June 9, someone broke into a 2016 Nissan Sentra and stole a pink wallet containing both their driver's licenses, a Social Security card, a birth certificate, two debit/credit cards and the vehicle's front license plate, which was in the glove box. Wednesday, June 10 6:51 p.m. — Lake Avenue, possession of drug paraphernalia. Adrian Vega, 43, of Barbara Street, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia and having fictitious plates. Officers responding to a report of a reckless driver stopped a green 2010 Kia Soul in the Gas Go parking lot at 237 Lake Ave. Vega was driving on a flat tire and there was a black digital scale in plain view on the passenger's seat, as well as a Nerf gun with a .22-caliber pistol magazine inside. Unused steel wool, which can be used as a filter in pipes to smoke crack cocaine, also was found. Vega was taken to the Lorain County Jail. 3:43 p.m. — Lowe's, Midway Boulevard, theft. A loss prevention manager at the store reported that at 11:15 a.m. May 31, an unknown black male suspect entered the store through the Lawn and Garden entrance, stole two Kobalt tool sets worth $318, and walked out of the store without paying. Photos of the suspect were provided to police. 6:13 a.m. — Keys Drive, theft. A resident, 44-year-old Terra Fisher, reported that at sometime time the previous night, someone broke into her Buick Enclave parked on the street but did not steal anything. Adrienne Drummer, 36, also told police someone broke into her Lexus and stole a bank card and a WIC card belonging to a friend. A third victim, 72-year-old Cleophus White, said someone also appeared to have gone through his Buick Lacrosse but not taken anything. Thursday, June 11 4:32 a.m. — Clark Street, theft. Alexander Stone, 25, of North Carolina Avenue, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of theft and criminal damaging. Stephanie Glynn, 44, of Clark Street, reported that Stone was caught on video stealing her Ring doorbell camera from the front door of her residence. The camera was valued at $100. Stone told officers he didn't mean to take the camera and said "a friend told him to do it." He remained uncooperative and was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail.
