Christine S. Edgell

Christine S. Edgell (nee Akers), 68, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020. She was born in Summerlee, West Virginia and lived most of her life in Elyria.Chris retired from Midview School District in 2012 after fulfilling her passion of working with children for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, being in nature, road trips with her husband and most of all spending time with her family.Christine is survived by her husband of 49 and a half years, Richard Sr.; children, Christie Bedocs, Richard Jr. and Crystal Walker; grandchildren, Kara and Katelyn Bedocs, Kya Walker, Aryana Edgell and Cole Walker; four great-grandsons and siblings, Juanita Roberts, Lois James, Ronald Akers and Beverly Schild.She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Ruby Akers and brothers, Melvin, Roger, Buster, Audrey and Billy Akers.Due to the present health concerns, a graveside service will be held at a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Cleveland Dyslexia Center, 3615 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115.Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel is honored to assist the family.www.wyers-bollinger.com
