15-year-old wounded in apparent accidental shooting in Elyria
According to a statement from the police department, officers were called to a home on the 1100 block of Melvyn Lane for a possible shooting at 3:37 p.m. Saturday. There, they found a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound.

The verdict on Roosevelt Benton, 20, of Oberlin, came after a week-long trial. A jury of seven men and five women found him guilty of two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
